With all the trade talk going on for the next 2 weeks if we were to get in on the market. Who would we go afte or who do we think we could get and what would we have to give up? Mike Miller is available, Charlie V. , Cory Magette (sp) who else sould we look at ?
Thought ? and Reasoning ?

i've been pushing the mike miller thing all day, but it's a long shot that we'd be able to get him.
i think we'd have to give up ollie (expiring), jason smith (young talent), some combo of players to match salaries, and a 1st rounder.
i'd definitely say it's worth it, can you imagine this team with mike miller starting at SG and a decent PF (who we presumably acquire in the offseason through the draft or FA), and have Thad/LWill come off the bench. we'd instantly be a top 5 team in the east, possibly better.
i guess the one downside is we lose $3.4m of cap space from ollie's contract, so we'd be more limited in what we can do in the offseason. i don't know, i'd say the risk is worth the reward. m.miller starts to open up your half-court game with his long-range shooting and ability to get open looks, and that's the biggest weakness in our team game right now.

Small trade for Miller...Miller for Ollie, Carney, Smith and Amundson or we can make it a bigger deal and get Miller, Warrick and Lowery for Ollie, Carney, Smith, Booth, Randolph and Amundson....Memphis get expiring and 2 young prospect in Carney and Smith and we get a point in Lowry, Miller to spread the court andWarrick to come off the bench with energy...

Some names out there I want and how to get them (repeated in the fantasy trade thread. I think this should be in both).
1) Charlie V
Charlie V for Carney, Randolph and lottery protected 1st.
*** I think Charlie will come here with a chip on his shoulder. Don't like Carney but he's developing into a sparkplug guy with his speed. Bucks might want that. Expiring contract of Randolph gives some cap relief.
2) Josh Childress
Miller for Childress, Pachulia, Lue
*** Atlanta's in the playoffs. They need some guidance while there. Miller offers that. Childress is a FA end of the year and I doubt that Atlanta will keep him and Josh Smith. Pachulia's a spare part with Horford there, Lue too with Acie Law there.
3) Rashual Butler
Willie Green for Rashual Butler
Butler's an excellent 3 pt guy who's a spare part with the Hornets. Hornets need consistent offense off the bench which Green supplies. Makes sense to me.
4) Brian Cook
Reggie Evans for Brian Cook and James Augustine.
Howard needs help. At least another banger. He doesn't neet a scorer beside him because of Lewis and Turkuglu. Battie won't be ready this season. Cook is not a banger but a very good shooter. The Sixers need that. Augustine is a filler but could supply minutes at the PF position similar to Amundson.
PG: Williams/Lue/Ollie
SG: Childress/Butler
SF: Iggy/Cook
PF: Charlie V/Smith/Cook
C: Dalembert/Pachulia/
Lue, Ollie and Childress are expiring. Pachulia has one year left after this one. Gets rid of Green, Evans. Adds contracts with desirable lengths (one more year with Charlie V, Paculia. Rashual has one year less than Green (2 more years). Cook has one year less than the Evans contract. Sixers have first rights to match any Childress deal. Sixer 1st round pick this year, a PG like Collison or Bayliss.

Two years from being two years away.

fair point but hold on a second, mm is a better piece than kk by a substantial factor. i understand not wanting to give up our cap space that we could be spending on a PF, but to suggest that trading korver for miller is really not a huge improvement is not quite accurate.

I'm just happy that the trade deadline is under 2 weeks away. As soon as thing passes we'll have a lot more facts about the upcoming summer such as...
-what does our cap situation look like (Is Miller gone? Is Evans?)
-who is our main competition in the summer? Will it be just the Grizzlies? I'm not counting the Heat since Marion isn't opting out.
-what disgruntled players were NOT dealt? The more teams that wait till the summer, the better off we will be since we can play the role of the 3rd team.
Let's go Susan Powter and stop the insanity!
Also, am I the only one who thinks we don't do a thing??

MM isn't worth what the Sixers are giving up when you consider where the franchise is at this point. I don't think Smith is moved unless it's a package where you get a quality PF back.
Could live with the Hawks deal for Childress and Pachulia.
Is Chicago going to make a deal before the deadline, or are they just giving up on the season? If they get healthy and get into the playoffs, they are still a quality club...be interested to see what they do as well.
