Rumor: Amare was offered to the Bucks
Apparently some time before the Shaq deal. The Suns offered Amare for Bogut, CV, Gadz and a first. Not sure who nixed the deal if it was Harris or Kohl.
*Note normally I don't get much inside information, but I'm pretty confident in the guy who told me.

IF this rumor is true, i think we would be dumb not to of done it.
bogut, IMO, will always be a 15-10 guy. never really a game changer.
Amare, on the other hand, can give you 24-10, blocks a ton of shots, and CAN turn a game around by just getting the ball into him. Yes bogut has that nice hook going, but his jump shot, even from 10 feet, is hideous. its just ugly watching him shoot the ball.
If Redd could stay healthy, redd and amare would be a deadly combo

Don't start this crap....please.
Don't even go here. If you are struggling to start a thread and don't any ideas to incite converstation, don't tell me the Bucks' were offered Amare
and passed...
You are lying. Where is your source!? You can do better then this. I don't want to read this...or accept it.
Things are bad here enough then to come up with a torture thread like this...
Bucks' appeasers like to say bullcrap lies like this to make fans think tried something that they did not, just to appease angry fans and cause them to shrug and say, 'well at least they are trying."
Don't sucker us...Sometims I think some of you say names you know some of us want on this team and like, and then say we could of had them or were offered them just to piss us off and draw a reaction...
In in all it is a lie! Don't lie!

You are foolish! This is not even worth arguing...THE DINJ wrote:Too much to give up for Amare.
That would be a steal for the Bucks. Some of you fans are clueless on NBA talent and what wins in the NBA.
Why did you have to even bring this up...and depress me again. Too much to give up my foot!
You are as sharp as a rock...you do that deal in a heartbeat. Amare is worth as much if not more then Garnett or Gasol.
A top 5 player in the NBA who can take over games and is not just a complementary player or bit player like Bogut or Villanueva is...
He is a flat out SUPERSTAR that you have to account for every time down the court! He is a flat out Beast on both ends and a dominating force not just a glue player.
And he is only 25 or 26! Amare, Yi, and make another minor deal then to bring in Szcerzbiak if you want to then...and it is a wrap! You are past the 2nd round of the playoffs if not deeper!
If you could have got him and kept Yi and Redd and Mo and if the Suns could throw in a filler like Raja Bell or even Banks and a 2nd round pick you do it!
You do it even if you have to give up a #1 pick! This is a no-brainer if you could give up anyone on your roster but Redd and Yi and Mo then you DO IT...even if you have to part with Bogut!
Anyone who says no...is a fool!
It would have been a great deal for the Suns as well had they kept Marion and done this deal instead.
Marion and Amare did not get along at all as I do not think Amare gets along with Nash either.
But so what! You don't have to like everybody to win games. Just execute on the court. The 1971 Bucks won a title and they were not close and that tight either.

Lets all just remember, we are yet to see Amare play well without having Steve Nash by his side. So it would be a gamble if we made this trade, as Mo Williams aint the best passer.
Amare also has a knee injury which will plague him throughout his whole career, that is also another risk.
I would never do this trade. I would much rather keep Bogut and CV as they seem to be always improving.

That's A LOT to give up for Amare. Bogut at the very least is probably a 15-10 guy for his career, a very valuable player at that position. When you also give up Villanueva who as a starter is probably 16 and 8, AND a lottery pick, just a lot to give.
Don't get me wrong, Amare is a VERY good player but he's not the type of guy who's going to win you a title IMO. He's not really a guy you can build an entire team and game plan around. Not saying Bogut and Villanueva are, but giving up those guys, eh.
If that first had legit protection on it, I'd take it into heavy consideration though. I'm assuming it was this years first with little to no protection.

All of that is completely false. Amare had a 21 point and 9 rebound season before Nash was back in Phoenix.
As for the knee injury, the guy played all 82 games last year and has had no problems whatsoever during this season.

When was the last time Amare averaged 20/10 in a season?
Amare is massively overrated.
Hes an elite finisher, thats it. You need an elite level PG to help him on the court. He has close to zero post offense, minus zero post defense and no, he doesnt block tons of shots, he has yet to record a season average of 2+ blocks(since this season isnt over yet) and he only averaged 1.3 blocks for the last 5 years.
He'd be extremely lucky to even reach 20ppg on the bucks.
just think about it, why would suns want shaq?

So our lineup would be
Williams
Redd
Simmons
Yi
Amare
Bell
Mason
Voskuhl
Ruffin
Sessions (hurt)
Ivey
Noel
I'd consider this deal if there was protection on the pick. I'd give them the unprotected pick if we got Atlanta's pick.

Maybe I'm just drunk still, but I can't believe I'm seeing people hesitate to do this trade. We lose Bogut and the pick, that sucks, but CV's value isn't too much in my opinion and we get to dump Gadz too?
Amare is all-NBA FIRST team at a premier position. He is twice as good as anyone we have currently in my opinion. I can't imagine myself hesitating to add him.
I'll re-visit this thread in the late afternoon when I am sober, maybe I'm talking crazy right now.

A guy who averaged 22/9 was voted all nba first team is beyond me.
keep drinkng.
Amare is better than anyone on the Bucks.
His skill/talent/athleticism is better, and his stats, and the main difference is he gets his on a winning team.

Because hes on the Suns and playing with Nash.
You see this above average guy who shoots 47.5% along with 3.5 TO without Nash, then you got a superstar who shoots 58% 2.2 TO with Nash.
One thing's for sure, with or without Nash, hes a terrible post defender.
Again, I doubt this rumor to be true, but even if it was, I wouldnt do it if Bogut was involved. Not to mention they want a 1st? heh, wonder why they accquired Shaq after this "deal" failed thru...Because Amare isnt getting Suns anywhere, they would never go pass Spurs if Amare is their post defender.
Enough said, Bogut is only one of handful guys who got their career high against Amare.

And he's only 25.
Age isnt a factor at all in this case. Its not like he could improve his game dramaticaly at this stage of his career.
His offense is already there, other than easy baskets from Nash, These are what he usually do
1. Put backs
2. High post facing the basket, either beat his man off dribble or jack up a jumpshot(he has a fairly good stroke thou)
3. baseline jumpshots.
He isnt a back to the basket type of guy, He makes plays from outside of the paint.
Other than that, hes a career 75% FT shooter.
