TGP,
When you say "on the cheap", what are you thinking of giving up? About two weeks ago, I would have said Carney, but now I'm almost more inclined to keep him over WG. I would NOT trade Miller for TT. That being said, would you trade WG and the 1st rounder we got from Utah for TT? Would you throw Evans into the mix? The only way I trade Carney is if Sefalosha is brought back in return.

I'm less likely to move to Carney now than I was 2 weeks ago but I would still move him for Thomas. When I say on the cheap, I'm talking a package of either Green, Evans, or Carney plus Utah's 1st for him and nothing bigger than that. Basically, I would take a flyer on the guy and see if a change of scenery and style of play gets him on the right path but I wouldn't move Miller or our cap space for him.

Also... as I wrote in a new thread... I think we might have our PF on this team already in the form of Thaddeus Maximus Young.

if we dont get any go 2 guy or can get someone with the MLE id like to see us nab Ryan Gomes...he isnt the answer at all but hes a solid all around player who off the bench could contribute alot think for this team.

Day? Come on now, SF... he was the player of that hour. I'm so over him at this point. :-)

Has anyone looked at the numbers Emeka Okafor has been putting up lately?? I believe that we are all for bringing him here which is why I think Stefanski should move Evans for an expiring contract so that we can at least offer a max deal to Okafor and make Charlotte match. I believe the free agent signing period is earlier this year (around July 7th) than in year's past so if Okafor signs on the 7th and Charlotte takes the full 2 weeks to match, we should still be fine for making moves. I'm sure reports will come out as soon as Okafor signs an offer sheet as to whether Charlotte plans to match or not so if Charlotte decides to punish us for going after their RFA, Stefanski can start working on the next move during the two week wait.

It's pretty difficult to move Evans for an expiring. He's on a long contract (3 years left) and, other than rebounding, he doesn't bring a lot to the table (ie OK shooter, terrible FT shooter). The only thing you can do is to shorten that contract committment by trading for something similar but with one or two less years.

I wonder who has more years? Hunter or Evans. Either way, Hunter was alot more servicable then this bum.

Evans is a much better rebounder and doesn't take any more bad scoring attempts than Hunter. It just looks that way because his offensive game is SO ugly.

Also, Evans frustrates guys on D. The only people Hunter ever frustrated were the fans

Evans is the better player, but it is much easier to unload an underachieving athletic 7 footer than it is to move Evan's.

It seens like most people on this board have an interest in Blatche. When looking back at the 2005 draft the sixers were in a position to draft Blatche. Would anyone looking back on this draft rather have Blatch or Williams.

Also Jermain O'Neils name has been thrown out in trade rumors would anyone be interested in him as a possible trade option.

I love jermaine o'neal as a player, and think he'd be a perfect fit when healthy. Obviously that's a huge risk, but I think now's a good time to snag him while his value's low.

He's a big risk contract or no contract. I'd just play it safe and wait this out

JO is on the books for 2 more seasons at crazy (22M) numbers. He also has a player option to opt out. It would be a big risk, but not a terribly long term one given the youth on out team. We always could trade his mega expiring contract in '09 or let it come off the books that summer.

I guess it depends if he really ever has a shot to get healthy.

What was Larry Bird thinking, giving him that contract.
