after reading the wiretap it looks like you guys are looking for a perimeter defender. ross would a perfect fit for you guys. he's inexpensive, won't complain about minutes, he can guard anybody and he's experienced versus the western conference, especially the pacific divion, including the lakers.
i myself would like to keep him for next year once the clippers become healthy enough to compete and actually put ross to good use. but he is a guy who is on the suns radar and if the clippers could get a good deal for him i think it would benefit both sides. you guys would love to see ross guarding chris paul, trust me.

I wouldn't mind adding him for a future 2nd and TE. His shot has been terrible from field in 08 (~34% FG), but he's long, rebounds, plays D and can run the floor. Still, is he really that much better than DJ? And, since he will be an FA at season's end, why not save the pick and give DJ the minutes?

Well, DJ isn't an established player yet. He's still adjusting to the NBA, and will take some time for him to get a reputation defensively, and get respect from the refs on calls. Hasn't played in a playoff game, and it's more unlikely than not that he isn't a Tayshaun Prince or Raja Bell case in the playoffs. He could be, but it lacks credibility until performing like those two did is actually displayed, and of course has to get consistent time in general, in able to possibly do that.
I understand DJ's a mature young player and has a defensive rep coming into the NBA - but he's still a rookie in the NBA who hasn't done anything or played that much.
I'd definitely try to get Q-Ross if I was the Suns. Lot more realistic than Ron Artest.

Yeah, his shot is a worry but he's def someone I would consider. Would Tucker get it done?
Even if he was just a year rental due to his contract expiring that would be fine with me. I just don't see Tucker becoming a serviceable guy on our team cos he's someone who needs the ball in his hands and not really a role-player.
On a team like the Clippers (espec if you lose Maggette) he could develop a lot quicker and be pretty good. Not trying to be disrepectful to the Clippers but they have the time to develop young talent and unless you're a role player like DJ you're gonna struggle to get the ball in your hands with the likes of Nash, Amare, Hill etc. on this team.
