Forget the last play, I think its time we talk whether we really want to keep Ray after this year. Whether the last play was selfish is irrelevant in the context of whether his game is selfish, which I feel the answer is a resounding yes.

To be frank Ray is looking for his own shot too much. We keep letting him drbble at the top of the key, where 4 times out 5 he loses his dribble for a second. In spite of that he keeps calling his own number often times for extremely tough shots regardless of how he has been playing to that point in the game. He is having trouble turning the corner and infrequently gives the ball up when someone beats him to the spot. IMO he is worse at ballhogginf at Pierce has ever been.

This transitions me to my gut feeling. Ray should be coming off the bench and Tony should be starting. This could prevent Rondo to reverting to his passive nature when KG gets back, give us more defense, rebounding, and steals at the beginnning of the game. Additionally Ray can be the guy on the second unit.

Like I mentioned earlier, we need to trade Ray after this year. He is clearly dimishing physically and hope to the high heavens that we don't let his name recognition prevent us from doing what is best for the team.

IMO, Ray has been mad at the Refs all year. I also feel he hasn't be getting the calls all year. Ray made the right decision taking it to the Rack, IMO.And, you don't forgive horrible officiating because the play luckily worked out.
Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...

i think he was cut as well. in the interview he had a cut across his chest, near his neck. it looked new.

he doesn't get the calls he used to and he was hacked hard. it tough to go from mad to happy really fast.

sometimes i do that, when i'm screwed over and then it takes while to get really happy when something that just went bad worked out for you. you know?

I think Ray's looking fine out there, he spreads the floor, plays great D and has one of the nicest floaters ever. He was played too long in this game after 3 games in 4 nights.

I thought Eddie at 2 in the 4th would've helped on the offensive end when Ray and PP couldn't hit any shots, we'd given up on the defensive end so maybe Doc was right.

this is the worst thread I've seen in some time.

1. Ray did the right thing. Look at the time on the clock.. it wasn't a sure-fire pass. It looked like it could have been for a second just because of the spacing, but he did the right thing not passing to Posey and taking it hard to draw the foul.

2. Ray Allen is the ultimate team player in Boston. If you even have to start this thread, then you haven't been watching him this season. Everything he has done for this team... just take for example the first Lakers game. All he did was guard Kobe.

he really doesn't care about his stats this year. And he's enough of a good sport to volunteer to replace someone at the all-star game even though he was not chosen and wouldn't be considered an all-star this year.

Sure, Ray likes to dance a little bit with the ball.. but I am very confident when it is in his hands and he takes it to the basket or takes a shot.
