But that's only for 4 years. Sergio would make SOOOOOOOOOOOO much more money here later in his career than he could in Spain that it's totally worth it to take a pay cut for 4 years.

There is no quote from an inside source, but a handle full of Basque fans who feel that way. They can't even bomb their way to independence, yet somehow their certain Rudy is staying in Spain.
Rudy has already proven to be one of the best players in Europe and his buy out is totally affordable. There is little chance that he is not coming over here next year.

What I did was come across an article that I thought was of interest to regulars on this board. I posted the quote in question, linked the article and then asked if Givony is just talking out his ***.
No over reaction from me unless soliciting debate is over reacting. I would like to know where Givony is getting his info. I think he is full of it, but would like to hear from others. Have they seen or heard any info on Rudy having a change of heart?

I thought I read last week or the week before that
Sergio talked to Rudy on the phone and Rudy said
he was looking forward to coming here.. .However
I dont remember where I read that, but I did.. .
frangs wrote:Actually, he rejected some big contracts this season after being drafted by Portland (for example, from Barcelona).
The reasons, reported in some media, were that his team (Joventut) would make things easier for him to go to Portland, which probably means a small buy-out.
Others teams would have offered him bigger contracts but with a clause saying: "Ok, if you leave to Portland then you pay $XXXXXX"... Aghhhh everyone wants to make money!!!!!!!!
