he is an above average runner on the court, but for a 7 footer that is very good....not to mention he is very athletic

Dude, just admit you were wrong. He took 11 shots today against Georgia Tech. He scored 24 points, got 15 rebounds, and 6 blocks - all leading his team. Eventually, you're going to rationalize this down to... Well, Michael Jordan... that's what I meant by an impact player. Thabeet is no MJ.

Hansbrough is nowhere near the prospect that Thabeet is. And as much as I like Hibbert, I'd take Thabeet over him.

Yeah, like everyone intelligent has been saying.. If he stays all 4 years at UConn he will end up the #1 pick of the 2010 draft.

you got that right jack, and if he knows whats best he would stay at least 3 years, if not all 4 years at UCONN....he still needs some help with his jump shot

If he came out last year, he'd been a late 1st round pick AT BEST and only played in the NBDL... Out of the league in a few years.

If he comes out this year, he'll be a 1st round pick and be an impact defensive player for any team that drafts him... but will probably never develop into a starting center.

If he comes out next year, he'll be a top 10 pick and quickly develop into a starting center for years. Everything Diop is but much more.

If he comes out in 2010, he'll be the #1 pick and be everything Mutombo was but more.

Didnt you guys here:

The reason Thabeet was thinking of declaring last year was because his family is in a horrible position finacially. Calhoun had to talk Thabeet in returning to school.

I know he needs more time at UConn but unless his family finacial situation has gotten better, I believe Thabeet will for sure declare this year.

I think if he is drafted to the right team, I believe he will still reach his potential.

He sure did look amazing today, but he still is not in that upper echilon of impact players in the NCAA...though that is an ever changing list and if he keeps up like he did today he has a shot.

Hasbrough is nowhere near the prospect, and Hibbert and Thabeet are close. I never once said He was not a very strong prospect. My mock should prove that. All I said is he is not one of the impact players in college. Though he has tried pretty hard to prove me wrong since I posted it.

But looked a ton worse than Jordan as a freshman. Which makes it kind of funny that everyone thinks Jordan is a bust now that Thabeet is proving to be a stud.

Even as a freshman Thabeet looked better than Jordan. He was still dominant defensively as a shotblocker while Jordan can barely block 1 shot a game.

Agreed - and while I thought that Thabeet looked lost playing the game last year, Jordan makes Thabeet look like he was the smartest freshman centre ever to lace up a pair of basketball shoes.

Thabeet might get blocks and dunks in college, but those will not be as prevelent in the pros. He has no low post moves and will get killed at the center position in the next level. Needs to play all four years, develop a soft hook with either hand.

Chandler is the exception, not the rule, plays in a perfect system, and is not asked to score down low. And Chandler does have a little hook shot.
