I'm vetoeing this miled modified trade.

Brand IS the max free agent out there. This trade makes no sense for EITHER side. Brand plays the same position as jefferson, the wolves are much better off getting someone other then brand for this package. Al Thornton for Mccants adds to the insanenes

THIRD VETO

Trade vetoed, but you guys have to realize this is going to keep happening. If a GM provides sufficient reasoning, no bother vetoing the deal.

sterncohen wrote:I did not think the LA-MIN trade should have been vetoed the first time around or this second time either. As we learned in the earlier rounds of this game, different players have different levels of tolerance for risk. I wouldn't have made this trade for LA either, but if the Minnesota pick turns out to be in the top two or three he'll come out fine. Whether that's an acceptable risk is the LA owner's decision, not mine.

There's a bigger issue here: I think it's time to change the veto rules. If I recall the last round of the game correctly, having three players speak up against a trade didn't veto it. Rather, the trade was then put up for a veto / no-veto vote of all owners, and it took a majority vote to veto.

That seems a good deal fairer than what we've got now, where if three people get mad they can knock out a trade, even if most players think it's OK.

That's not how it worked, it was still 3 vetoes cancels a trade --> the way you guys are throwing out those vetoes is crazy, so if we took your route with the majority vote to veto it would take way too long to keep the game moving. But one rule I'm taking from the old game that is now in place: If you veto a deal, and the necessary 2 others do not (even if you get 1), you have lost your privilege to veto deals. This way people aren't just throwing those vetoes around because of a grudge or if they think the trade makes no sense for the party getting ripped despite sufficient reason in terms of the team's direction.

Ok sorry guys, I have been insanely busy the last three/four days. If your trade has not been approved please just post the teams names involved and the page it is on, and I will approve it by tonite (provided the 18 hours has passed).
Also in regards to the veto process. Any veto including a personal attack will be disregarded and you will lose that veto. Please keep your reasoning to as small a post as possible. Other players wanting to veto as well but agree with the first post please just post that. People who are being vetoed, please try not to take it personally, and defend your position in as few posts as possible. These arguements over vetos are taking too long and are borderline personal attacks.
Man, we talkin' bout practice

I think the vetoing is becoming quite ridiculous. Almost every deal is being vetoed. I think the vetoing should be done by a majority vote. Not limit it to a 3 vote limit. Give a trade 24 hours, and if more people veto it than the ones passing it, then it gets vetoed. Otherwise, it goes through. Ofcourse the teams involved in the trade can't cast a vote.

I also think that we shouldn't be protecting GMs as much as we have been in the past.

Lets make a rule that if you are veto'd 3 times then you are out. Simple and strict. No reason to keep GMs who are doing a bad job in this game.

RJ is not overpaid, him and Sean Williams have been the only players on the Nets this year thats shown heart and hustle, I agree with #1Knicksfan that better descriptions should be used instead of "screwed" etc etc etc.

btw, i'm not vetoing the RJ-Minny deal, its a lot more fair since Fatoine's long deal goes to NJ

I don't agree with that because even the veto worthy deals aren't really as bad as I have seen.

As a lifetime MN fan I would like to offer kind words to skorff26 for making us miss McHale as our gm in only 2 weeks of work. You have managed to destroy our team, ignore everything about our team and create a mess.

Further proof that if people want to do these mock gm things you NEED to get fan's from the team in order to make it accurate. Klomp, Dunk, myself are all wolves fans. It is not hard to do that, but because you have a guy here who does not know the wolves he has destroyed this and made it as unrealistic as possible. Thank you once again.

also is my trade seattle/denver approved? it is based on numerous rumors from the nuggets board. Yes, I read their board and asked their opinion so I would actually know jack about their team.
