FINALLY I CAN RELAX!
Phew... I was so tense.

BC made a lot of moves. This team is good.
With last years record and this years surprises we have a lot of stars and roll players that still have room to develop and potential to explore.

So how can he change things now?
Faith in Garbajosa? Yes.
And faith that others will improve too like; Bargs, Bosh, Forderon, Sam + Co., and Jamario.

They can all get better and he expects them to.

Mid-Post Note:
- When Kapono dribbles he looks like Matt Bonner.

What will be cool is if Shaq can bring Phoenix a championship.
Cuz that may prove that the 4 fast-paced-offensive players and one slow lowpost defender that can and will succeed if put together by BC.

But BC's waiting for Bargs to become THE guy.
Bargs will change a lot as he matures but not before our patience has run out. He's a 5-year-plan in his second year. So we here on RGM need 3 more years of patience... But I trust... so I trust he'll get better every year.
I hear R2k when he says : "Quite Frankly, (blah, blah, blah), His insistence upon this approach will lead to an effective regular season team that will continually fall short in the playoffs."
This I agree with. BC's great and makin a team that has a good chance at winning games during the regular season. Doesn't he fit perfectly within MLSE?

i really wish people would get over the Kapono deal, since when using the MID-LEVEL EXEMPTION such a big deal. Seriously, a lot of teams probably would have done the same thing. Kapono was about the only shooter on the market this summer and BC landed him. What's wrong with that?

We all thought we got a M4 Carbon (someone who would just fill it up), but we really got a civil war black powder rifle (50/50 chance he will go off or get cold)

I'm not saying Kapono is playing up to his potential, or even that his potential is all that great. All i'm saying is that his contract is not that outrageous and that he is one of the few movable assets that BC has to work with

Funny how making such significant improvements, increasing the overall skill level and accumulating solid talent over a span of 1 1/2 seems like such a simple task that could be duplicated over and over again, each and every season.
Brian has gotten this thing going much further ahead of schedule than probably he believed was possible. Evaluate the moves, assets acquired compared to assets lost, and realize that the only reason people can contemplate that this team is one or 2 moves away from an Eastern Final is because Brian has made solid, smart moves that haven't handcuffed his overall plan. 08/09 will see one bold move and a couple of smart safe ones. 09/10 is the year that the fine tuning takes place and that key acquisition presents itself, and makes sense. This isn't the year and Brian realizes that. Technically, this team is much better than most thought it could be this early into BC's tenure. I want this team to have the remainder of the season and playoffs to show us what they can provide. After the playoffs, make smart moves based on accurate evaluations from the past year and playoff performances. Now is not the time and as long as BC keeps his eyes on the big prize, don't expect any shockers unless they are steals such as the Gasol trade.

The team is fine. But at the end of the day 90% of fans rather see three all-stars than a team that plays with good team chemistry.

To a great extent fans want entertainment and thats what a team with several high flying stars will do.

San Antonio might be a title contender each year, but during the regular season everyone would prefer to watch the Suns.

I'll be first to admit, I would rather have a team like the Suns, where I know I will be entertained for every game of the year, than have a team like the Spurs who I know have a better chance of winning, but I'll feel like watching them maybe once per week.

I think right now, the Raps are still one of the most entertaining teams in the East. Our point guards really set a nice tone for us and with everyone jacking shots, its just plain fun to watch (when they go in, though).

Really, the only other team that comes close is probably the young guns in Atlanta or the helter-skelter ball in Indiana.

I actually thought we are quite boring to watch at times. maybe it's because we know the player's tendencies and where they like the ball. I don't get too excited in the regular season unless bargs is having a great game. The playoffs have so much intensity, that the atmosphere more than makes up for the oftentimes boring oncourt action.

Last years finals was the opposite of that.

We all knew that the Spurs would win. And they'd do it slowly and painfully.

The Clev/Piston series was massively intense. G-State and Dallas was number one IMO. Raps at home (not only were we blown out in NJ, it was half empty too) against NJ was also quite intense.

The win at Boston was probably the most intense regular season game I have seen. Last years Seattle (Bargs with the 4-point play, you know the one) was also really great. But I find the Raps quite entertaining in general.

As much as we all want to see change I don't think the raptors should push for any trades yet. We don't exactly have the potential to draw high profile free agents or star players through trade. Although I would like to see some immediate impact and improvement to our team like every other Raptor fan, I don't think doing this through a trade right now would be a good idea. Like most other people have said, by 2009 we'll have the same core + hopefully with some fancy scouting 2 solid first rounders plus cap space... and then we'll be real competitors.

When the raptors become true competitors, i mean a team that actually has a hot at winning it all, that's the best time to pull of a big trade. Something that'll put us over the top. It seems to be what every other team is doing. As much as i hate to admit it right now, we're a good team, we're a winning team but we're not a playoff team. Not yet anyways.

It;s the impatience that bothers me! A lack of appreciation for where we're at, where we've come from, and what is necessary to in building a real perennial contender.

All these trade Ideas come from this one sided view of casual fans. The arrogance that's involved in posting these ideas as plausible is mind boggling. We as fans have no knowledge of what happens behind the scene's. We do have hearsay from the media, but to take seriously these for profit gossip machines is foolish. The shaq trade it looks like was in the works for 9 days and no media got wind of it, because they couldn't guess at it.

What I'm trying to say is taking a step back and enjoying what is here for us would be the gracious thing to do, not the Toronto thing to do, but the gracious thing to do.

When Bryan was in his final days with the suns who is to say that the players he put together was the final product. It takes time to get the right mix of players on a team. Sometimes it takes one high end player to take a team over the top.
