Reggie Evans for Garrity Augustine and a 2nd?
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

If the Magic are evenly remotely interested in Evans (which would surprise me) I'd be trying to work out a way to get F Vasquez and whatever expirings for Evans.

Evans is showing his value off the bench...not sure anyone would bite, but he has given this team a nice energy since he's out of the starting lineup.

i'm becoming more of an Evans fan & see him as a useful PF coming off the bench. I'd only give him away for cap space if there was a meaningful way to use that space. Only Ed knows for sure about that.

Exactly! There's no sense in just handing over useful players unless Ed has reason to believe that he will be able to sign Josh Smith or Okafor away from their current teams.

Otherwise, I think Ed should just go into the off-season with what we have in cap space and use it in a trade.

KK was an even more useful piece off the bench- and we gave him away. I don't doubt Ed would do the same with Evans if given the chance.

To Evans credit- this team was soft and being killed on the boards before he brought his act to town. He is fun to watch of the bench. Ever team needs a crazy...

With Evans off the books, you can go after a Brand or an Arenas. With him still there (and no one else moved), you can't. I think it's a no-brainer.

Thanks. I've just watched too many games & Evans makes a real impact. His presence makes guys like Amundsen & Randolph redundant. He's 27 & can come off the bench for Young or whatever PF they bring in. His salary is manageable. They've already dumped KK to get the extra cap space they need.

I'm sure Stefanski will trade Evans if someone is willing to pony up an expiring AND a first round pick. Ed needed to move someone in order to free up a bit more money and Kyle made the most sense in terms of value we could get in return and depth on our current roster.

Is Brand opting out? I doubt it. As for Arenas... I doubt we're even interested in acquiring him and he did write on his blog that if Washington doesn't want to sign him for the max that he will sign with a championship contending team for less. The real names in free agency are Okafor and Smith and signing them away without getting a deal matched is unlikely.

Again... we have cap space and will be able to make a move this summer.. I just believe that move will be a trade.
