They are fun to watch, and will be brought back to reality in March.

That said, with this type of young running team, they could steal games against better teams if they keep their confidence level up. That was what nearly happened against Orlando. The team shot lights out and almost stole a win- and I don't doubt that this team will steal some games against better teams down the stretch.

The other teams jockeying for the 8th seed are similarly inept, but I'm sure one of them will pull themselves together for a decent run at near .500 and pull away from the other dregs. I doubt that it will be the Sixers who make that run, but given how bad these other teams are, it could conceivably end up going to the Sixers.

Nice single coverage by Dalembert on Kaman last night. That opened it up for us to get our hands on lots of passes/deflections and get out and run. This high octane offense is certainly entertaining.

Jersey plays Dallas tonight which means there is an excellent chance that we will be in a 3 way tie for the 8th seed at the end of the night.

I am with you on this topic, dbodner, but the last games are a spark of hope. Since Mo put Thaddeus into the line-up, we might have increased our chances for the playoffs. And as long as we don't trade Andre Miller it is safe to say that a good lottery position is a longshot. That said, I am also rooting for the playoffs and I hope to see Thad evolve more and more.

Now that Garnett is on the shelf, what are the odds that Sam (or maybe Iguodala) gets the nod. A longshot, given Allen was snubbed- but it could happen.

I don't think Allen is having a good year and shouldn't be an All-Star. As for Sam and Iguodala... I don't think either have a chance of making it. If someone from the Sixers made that squad, I think Andre Miller would get the nod and that's not happening.

I guess Shawn Marion doesn't have a chance of making it in the East, does he?

He has not played for the East, so he should not be in contention.

In case KG cannot play, I would assume Hedo gets the nomination.

I would think Hedo or even Calderon would get the nod but I think Marion is the better player.

Fruckin' no. He is not as good as he used to be. Besides there are now 3 players from the Pistons attending the Allstar-game. I also believe that Hamilton's nomination should be contested in favor of Turkoglu.

I am aware that they were looking for a replacement for KG but I cannot believe that they took Sheed. 13 PPG and 8 RPG do not make you an allstar.

They needed a big to replace Garnett. Bosh and Howard were the only 6'10+" people on the roster. Cases could have been made for other people but Sheed's a fine choice considering how bad the bigs are in the East.

Can't complain too much...Sammy had a great stretch of games, and if he had that for the whole first half, then we would have something to complain about. It's the all star game...no biggy. Sixers will have someone in the game next season...if nothing else, Thad will be one of the sophs!!
