I really hope minnesota trades down and snags him in the 5-8 range. Beasley is too much a tweener between sf/pf and we will still be trying to see if foye works at pg so rose may not get picked. Minnesota needs a big badly and Hibbert is the most ready to contribute now. I just learned that he can also hit out too 18-20ft which will be essential while Big Al beasts in the post.
He may not start all the time (say if we play gs, phx, etc), but most teams will have a hard time matching up to a hibbert/jefferson combo which will easily rival oden/aldridge.
the big man is back and I wouldn't laugh at a team that snags a well rounded 7'2 guy with soft hands, a nice touch and has a defensive impact. The talk to surrounds him reminds me of what they said about brandon roy...not a high ceiling..what you see is what you get.....not athletic....yada yada yada.

You dont pass on the soon to be all time freshman leader for double-doubles. He can play the 4, AL the 5. Or Beasley can get spot minutes at the 3, AL the 4, FA C at the 5.

Considering two things... first, Hibbert's a solid player and doesn't have character issues. Second, Hibbert's the number one rated center in this draft class so any one who is looking for that big man down low would almost be crazy to pass on him.
I do think Hibbert's a bit over-rated. He is slow and doesn't have that big of an upside. I think Thabeet, once they both have their same experience in the NBA, will be a better player than Hibbert.

1. Beasley will not be an effective 3 in this league.
2. Al Jefferson plays better at the 4 or alongside a pretty good post defender.
3. Hibbert is a pretty good post defender, and would allow Jefferson to play his more natural PF position.

As DX says, hibbert is not a sexy pick. Thus most realgm posters will not like him. Makes perfect sense.
