Worst draft day blunders of all time?

2005 Draft Potential Blunder:
Knicks, Warriors and Raptors taking Frye, Diogu and Villauneva over Bynum.

2004 Draft Blunders:
Jazz taking Kris Humphries over Al Jefferson.
Cavs taking Luke Jackson over Josh Smith.

2001 Draft Blunders:
Boston Celtics Draft aside from Joe Johnson who was moved for Rodney Rogers.

Though one thing that we always overlook is who was on the roster at the time, which always dictates the draft.

andrew bynum looks good now but I still haven't seen enough to classify him as good enough to be a someone elses blunder in passing him. I think people are crowning him a bit early

The idiot teams who passed on Andrew Bynum and Danny Granger in 2005.

Paul Pierce dropping to #10, behind trash like Raef LaFrentz, Mike Bibby, and Tractor Traylor.

Many people are saying that Sam Bowie was the worst pick. One thing that people don't know about that situation is that Chicago was actually the team that wanted Sam Bowie. After drafting Jordan Rod Thorn issued a apology to the fans for not being able to land a big man in the draft but that they selected the best player available with the pick.

If it wasn't because Patrick Ewing chose to stay in Georgetown one more year Sam Bowie would have been a Chicago Bull with Jordan most likely ending up in Philadelphia as they were really coveting him at the time.

During that summer Patrick Ewing promised his mother that he would have returned to school and finish off one more year. Although it was pretty much known had he entered the draft Portland would have been the team to take him. Houston already knew that they were going to take Hakeem at # 1, Portland wanted Ewing but when he pulled out Bowie was the next highest prospect coming out of college and Portland felt that he would have been a good player to pair with Clyde Drexler. Chicago wanted a big man and Sam Bowie was going to be their pick but with Hakeen never in the plans, Ewing staying in school and Bowie going to Portland it left Chicago in position to chose between Jordan, Barkely and Mel Turpin. Sam Perkins was never a choice of theirs.

When all is said and done the Chicago Bulls pretty much have to thank Patrick Ewings mother for the Bulls selecting Michael Jordan instead of Sam Bowie and thus re writing NBA history forever.

As a Bulls fan I would like to thank Mrs. Ewing.

How bout in 2003, Cleveland Cavs taking Luke Jackson over Biedrins, Big Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, JR Smith, DWright, JNelson, Delonte West, Tony Allen, Kevin Martin.

2003 was suched a stacked draft, there is no excuse for any team that ended up with the poo-poo platter Utah took Kirk Snyder and Kris Humphries before 4 of those guys.

Sometimes I wonder if these teams even pay for scouts.

That's not an epic draft day blunder; yeah, they could've used a point guard but he's pretty well showed up and said "Hey, I'm not bad!"

Yes, because so many studs were drafted behind him. Noah, for the most part when given minutes, has produced. He's not a bust at all and will be a solid NBA player for years to come.

True, but only half of that actually has to do with his choice of attire. I mean half of it is just that he's an ugly dude. I think Jalen Rose was a much bigger blunder.
