HIGHLIGHT-REEL-TEAM!!!

Post#1 » by mudyez » Sun Feb 10, 2008 9:53 pm

I did something like that some month ago as a all-time-thing, but would like to do it now as current:

Create a starting-5 + coach for pressconferences + an additional player which is there to do the interviews!

The target should be to create a lineup, that plays the most spectecular basketball you can imagine. The coach is only there to do the pressconferences while the additional player does the interviews! (otherwise everyone would take maike d. as he lets his players run coz he cant coach himself)

Plz make sure the team also works on court! To have 5 dunkers, that cant spread the floor or defend wouldnt result in highlight-reals but chaos!

In order to keep the lineps somewhat realistic, you are only allowed to have up to 2 current allstars + the max of one of the so called snubbs (camby, davis, and so on)!

You are free to add a bench of 6 players but these should be benchguys in the league too(+the the interview-guy)!

My lineup:

C-Marcus Camby
PF-Josh Smith(if you consider him a snubb, I take T.Thomas)
SF-Jamario Moon
SG-Kobe Bryant
PG-Steve Nash

Interview-Guy: Steve Marbury

Coach: Greg Popovich

further Bench:
Sean Williams
Andrey Blantche
Tyrus Thomas(if subbed into the starting-5, place David Lee here)
Gerald Green
Ricky Davis
Luke Ridnour

The idea was to make the main ballhandlers the stars in the backcourt while the others are nice dunkers which are fed by them. Marbury is unbeatable in intervies since barkley retired and I didnt want to take shaq off the bench. The further bench is build like the starters with ridnour and davis creating and the others running and dunking. I take Pop interviewwise over every coach in the history of the game but you can make a case for isiah "we still can make the playoffs" thomas.

...I'm sure, I forgot some guys and I'm curious what lineups you are creating (Carter, Howard?)

I may change kobe to carter, as kobes defense is too good in order for smith, moon and camby to get a lot of monsterblocks! I need guys that get busted bye! :D

Meh, not really, Brewer,Wallace, and Dwight all have athetlicism and highlight reel potential.

The fact that they are all beast on D, also helps. :)

All-Star limits don't cut it in the highlight reel.

Go big or go home, baby.

Somehow I feel like David Stern when Isiah tells him: "Lux-Tax? We wont pay anything! Either you go big or you go home David!"

I implemented the rule to avoid Paul-Kobe-Lebron-KG-D12/Nash-Wade-Melo and so on...teams which are boring to read about!

to make it a little easier:

1 guy means one player!
and if you have 2 of them, thats 2 guys!
1+1=2!
if you want to know who an allstar is just check this site:
http://www.nba.com/allstar2008/players/
and add kevin garnett

you can choose two (2) of them (see above) and add some other players!
from these guys one (1) can be a so called snub!

if you want to know who a snub is, this site may help:
http://www.zimbio.com/Allen+Iverson/art ... Star+Snubs

and steve smith will help you too:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wRLp1bnxxrU

for the bench (if you want one), the guys should have started less than 50% of their games this season.

that brings us to another problem: whats 50%???
