Question Regarding the Hawks/Heat redo match.....

Post#1 » by O Poutsokleftis » Mon Feb 11, 2008 4:20 am

Hey guys- here's an interesting thought. Since Shaquille O'Neal was traded to the Suns, the Heat now still need to complete their match with the Hawks. The reason for this redo was because Shaq was issued 6 fouls instead of 5.

Now that he is no longer a member of the Heat, is there any reason to still redo the match? Unless Shaq is allowed to play for the Heat for some strange reason, I don't see the point. The Heat will finish the final 50 seconds or so of the game without Shaq anyways....so what's the point?

I'm sorry if this was mentioned before- but I never go on the General NBA Discussion board anyways.

lol that would be so funny if they had Shaq return to the Heat for the match. That would hands down solidify this as the wierdest game in history.

 lol excellent questions, i would have to assume that marion and banks would not be allowed to play, lol how good would it be if shaq had to play 50 more seconds as a heat player

Miami should just forfeit it.

Im surprised this hasn't come up anywhere else- like ESPN and such. Its really an interesting question...it makes you think.

And I agree with Patterns- Heat should just forfeit it.

And most importantly, what happens to Marion's stats for THE fantasy repercussions?

A steal and a block away could mean doom or the championship in any head to head matchup!

Yahoo and the AJC have articles about it. I believe it's still unclear what's going to happen, however I expect it to happen, but Marion will obviously sit out and so will Marcus Banks.

considering he was the main player involved in teh need for the replay, logic says if the replay is gone ahead with, shaq would have to return to the heat for the game.

the real irony would happen, if the game was between the suns and the heat. THEN, it would be funny

What would be crazier is if Shaq was traded to the Hawks.

I'm guessing the Heat are just going to say not to bother with it. Lowers their chance of a higher draft pick and the result of the game is kind of meaningless in the context of the Heat's record now.
