DWill postgame interview - On Ronnie P
DWill gave Ronnie Price a little love in the post game interview. I think he was being subtle, but wants Ronnie to take over the backup spot over Hart.
I think Price has earned it... well it's obvious Price has earned it. Question is, will Sloan play head games?

The thing that will give Price the nod is that his defense is very good.
He plays great man to man defense, is terrific on help defense and does probably the most important thing in the Jazz coaches eyes, deflections on the ball, the Jazz have always marked that as a huge stat and he does it as much as AK did in his first few seasons here.
Love Price.

I agree Hart blows, but there's no way he "can't defend." He's actually a very good defender.

I dont know, I was pretty damn confident in Dee. What the Jazz should really do this offseason is get rid of Hart and try to make a deal with Dee. Dee right now really wants to come back to the NBA and I think would do it for pretty damn cheap.

Jason Hart is a joke. Price is awesome. Everyone knows it....
You can see that players have no confidence in Hart. Boozer almost gives up any hope of ever getting the ball when Hart is in. Especially on the stupid end of quarter plays where Hart jacks up an ugly-ass shot off the pick and roll instead of slipping it to Boozer or the open shooter. I saw Korver throw his head into his hands at the end of quarter 1 when Hart shot the ball last night as Korver was wide open in the corner asking for the ball....
Hart is a joke. I wish I got paid $5 million to be that bad at MY job...

Hart isn't THAT bad. I think he has conditioning problems and is struggling with our offense, but his D is decent and has a good experience, so he still can be useful. This said Price is way a better athlete and has a legit shot, so i prefer him, even if his decision-making is suspect for a pg.

I don't know how many times i've thrown MY head in MY hands when Hart decides to take an ill-advised jumpshot when someone is wide open on the wing or the top of the three point line, almost always as the clock is running down.
I've been making a case for Price since early in the season, and hopefully his recent surge is the LAST surge needed for him to get the nod ahead of flatline.

what is harts % on last second quarter ending shots? 0/15? 1/20?
why the hell does he keep shooting that same shot!?!?! When harts in closing the quarter i just leave because i usually know whats gonna happen, hart will jack up that POS jumper and miss it
Price is the man, he should be the one getting playing time and hart should be the chump on the bench who gets playing time when we win by 30

I pretty much agree with everyone here. Hart will make a fine THIRD-STRING point guard, but Price needs to be the primary back-up. There was an article in the Trib this morning eluding that Sloan was thinking of making the change.
"It was a "Jump to Conclusions" mat. You see, it would be this mat that you would put on the floor... and would have different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO." - Tom Smykowski

Hart's been given long enough to at least show signs he can handle the second unit. Grade: F.
Apart from his lacking any discernable creativity, his 'jumpshot' is disgraceful. He ought to be banned from attempting anything but layups. He's a capable defender for sure, but one scrapping PG at that end isn't going to make that much difference. Plus, Ronnie's no slouch.
Fundamentally, this team needs its offense firing to be successful. When there's a perimeter player whom, with his dreadful biomechanics, couldn't be trusted to hit much more than a third of his wide-open setshots on the floor, the offense sputters and the team suffers.
Hart out, Price in.

I almost feel like I have to question the sanity of anyone who thinks Hart is anything but a complete piece of suck. The guy is just plain horrible, there's nothing anyone can say to mask his extreme level of suck. I can't even imagine why Sloan continues to play him over Price.
Having said that, I must admit I've been perplexed by the Dee Brown love that flows so freely around here. Yes, for sure he did a nice job in the playoffs a few times last year, but he was a non-entity during the season. Very few minutes and pretty poor numbers during those minutes. I mean, there must be a reason he hasn't been able to land a job in the NBA this year.

Yeah yeah yeah, we're not talking about Dee Brown tho....
I agree w/ you about Hart though...He has failed to impress me once this season. Worse than McLeod IMO...

LOL, just read the story on the Trib's website. Listening to (reading) Sloan's and the writer's version of Hart's upside made me laugh out loud. Sloan might as well have said, "Well, we overpaid for a complete buttmunch of a backup PG but we can't look like dildos so I'm going to pretend like he does some things well." With a talent for spin like that, Sloan should get a job with one of the presidential candidates.
