Laughable. Marion could get you 10 rebounds a game, Blount is 7 feet, the guy, if you average his rebounding rate per 40 minutes, he gets you 6 rebounds. Rodman was undersized, Barkley to add, great rebounders, is not the size of the dog, is the size of the fight in the dog. Acting like Marion can't get his own shot, how come his best statistics years were without Steve Nash.Flash4thewin wrote:I wouldnt mind trading Marion because keeping him on a rebuilding team is kinda pointless. Right now he will bring some more wins which take away our chances for a top pick. He will be looking at max money for a sf that plays pf undersized and cant create his own shot. Last hes freaking 6'6 without shoes and would be expected to shut down 6'10+ PF who have post moves? Marion would have been great to have along with Shaq not without Shaq. T
He could compliment Wade, like Pippen complemented Jordan. We still going to need a big guy besides Blount or Baron. Worst big men in the league. But if we find a Center that could play D, rebound, and not be to much of a scrub in a system, kind of like a Oberto of San Antonio role player. Also find the right rookie, Rose maybe the guy could really push the tempo with athletes such as Wade and Marion could be scary. We also need to find some shooters, will be back pretty soon as a formidable team.Flash4thewin wrote:CoolD you really think a team Undersized at SF/SG/PF is the foundation for a championship team? Was Rodman ever paid a max salary or demand one? Marion best assest is his athletic ability which is reduced playing a half court game. Championships are won playing in the paint not with run and gun style.

I don't know, watching Marion yesterday. And just looking at his career stats to back it up, I think the guy is so underrated by his detractors. I think the Marion to Pippen comparison was not all the bad by Riley. Wade is having an off year so making a Jordan comparison right know always going to bring out the haters out the woodworks, especially Laker Kobe fanatics. If we get the right point guard in the draft, I see Wade coming into next year, with a full summer of work, reach a very elite level next season. Just see how much the perception around Garnett has changed, over half a season, when you win and play with talent, perception changes.BBallFreak wrote:Relax KFE, we know that Riley was blowing smoke...

Like I said, just look how Garnett with in a span of half a year, know became the greatest thing since slide bread playing along talent.
Yes Marion is no Pippen, he might not have this so called pointguard skills, but the guy can rebound better than Pippen. And really has been underrated alot an Pippen seem to lose alot of his luster of the 50 greatest player when he no longer played along Jordan. The guy was still good, but the media seem to forget that
I think legacy's sometimes become a bit overrated .
Anyways, Wade is still young, am not going to write off his legacy right know, but once the Heat get back in track, perception always starts to change.
I think Garnett wasn't even talked about for the last years, about ever being MVP. Boston still keeps winning without him, and the reason supposedly is, because Garnett's so called leadership and how much he has influenced the team, that they still play good without him, what happened to Garnett's leadership all those years his team sucked in Minnesota.HeatSince88 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
I'm not even looking at legacies -- no one is comparing them in that respect.
I'm looking at one player's skillset versus another player's skillset, having seen them play 100s of times in their careers. And as you're pointing out, Pippen and Marion have different skillsets.
BTW, everyone knew Kevin Garnett was great before he went to Boston. You think everyone just figured that out a couple months ago?

Yes I think people always known Garnett was skilled, but know, they act like guy has accomplished more than Tim Duncan. I just find it funny how perception swings at the whim of the moment.
