Everytime I walk into the BC for a Bucks game its like a trip back to 1991,seriously.
I remember going to the BC for Bucks games back in 1991 & 1992 and I swear the atmosphere hasnt changed at all.
Streetlife still plays the same songs, they still play the same songs on the pa system during time outs, they still play the same ''in game'' music during play,Jensen even sounds exactly like Jack Gallo (Bucks pa guy before Jensen) hell they even play the same exact little chime or whatever after a made free throw that they played back then.
Its actually kind of funny.
One thing they have changed like PP said is the cheerleaders, they have gotten a lot hotter to say the least. The Cheerleaders back in the 90's looked like overweight women with big hair that where pushing 40.
Music during the flow of the game

In NY they'd be called a wedding band or a club date band; in Boston they'd be called a GB (general business) band. In those cities, there are dozens of bands just like them, due to the abundance of big-budget weddings. I hope I don't have to play that stuff ever again.
In fairness to Streetlife they are an entirely different band in a club than they are at the BC. At the BC they are limited to a very narrow choice of music. What bothered me (and everyone else) is hearing the same few songs game after game, season after season. I've followed Warren since his early days in "Oceans", he's top notch as is the rest of the band. But Bucks basketball at the BC is the wrong venue for them.

This doesn't have anything to do with the in-game music, but I just figured we didn't need another "General Incompetence of the Bucks organization" thread so I will just mention a few things here:
First, since the lighting was just brought up...
I'm glad the Bucks completely embarrassed themselves (again) during one of these retired number rededications.
Do they not practice these things so that they can get the timing right? We owe these players a higher quality display than what they get. There was at least 30 seconds of awkwardness last night waiting for them to remove the black curtain to reveal the new banner because they couldn't get it lit with a spotlight. How does that happen? You need to rehearse these things and have a backup plan in case something goes wrong. FINALLY, they put the house lights on last night after giving up on the spotlight, but they already had pulled away the curtain halfway, so there was no "dramatic" reveal. And the house lights back on just added to the lack of ceremonious atmosphere. Terrible.
Similar garbage happened with the previous two ceremonies.
With Kareem's, they had a problem doing the "dramatic" reveal. And even worse, Streetlife started playing him off the stage while he was still giving his speech.
With Moncrief's, Kohl wasn't even there because of some "prior commitment"
I had intended on investigating to see what could have possibly been so important, but I forgot (in fairness to me, none of the local media bothered to find out and report it either).
That was the biggest joke of all. Even if it is an out of town commitment, fly Kohl in for the ceremony and then fly him back to wherever he needs to be afterwards. Or reschedule that commitment. Or figure out a different day to have Moncrief's ceremony. Fly him in first class. Set him up in a penthouse suite in one of the nicer downtown hotels. You get the idea. But to have that ceremony and not have the owner of the franchise there is really inexcusable.
Also, as long as I am complaining...
I already had two tickets for last nights game that were going to be waiting for me at will call that I had purchased last week. Another friend wanted to go as well, so I figured I would call my ticket rep to see if one of the seats on either side of my pair were open OR if I could just get three new tickets together and have them take back the pair I already bought.
I called at around 5pm last night. I got my rep's voicemail saying he would be out of the office until Monday (they usually are there on gamenights). Fair enough. Everybody deserves time off and what not. No problem there.
But in that case, someone else needs to help me BUY another ticket (it really would only take like 5 minutes tops). I tried to buy another ticket, giving the Bucks more revenue. Given the sparse attendance, the team playing like garbage, the weather, etc. I knew it wouldn't be a problem to just get a third ticket from a scalper (I bought my tickets at a discount, so waiting in line at the ticket window to pay just regular prices didn't interest us) and just have him sit by us, but those tickets were already sold and would give the Bucks no additional revenue.
So I tried to buy a third ticket from the Bucks themselves, but they botched that just like they botch everything else. I called the main ticket number, and was asked to hold. I did. For about 2 minutes. Then I told them what I wanted and told them that my ticket rep's voicemail said he was gone. The girl said she would transfer me to another ticket rep who was there. Good. But then after a few rings, it goes to that ladies voicemail, Sue something or other. I don't want to leave a message, I want to buy a ticket right then. So I hit "0" to get back to the operator. Same girl, and she immediately asks me to hold before I can even say anything. Are they that understaffed? I can't imagine there were a ton of people calling the ticket office...
After another 2 minutes on hold, she comes back, I refresh her memory, inform her that I was transferred to someone's voicemail and that I just want to talk to ANYONE, any actual person, that can sell me a third ticket. She says she'll transfer me.
Where does she transfer me? Right back to this Sue ladies voicemail. Ugh. I had already spent like 8 minutes on this phone call already and wasn't giving anywhere, so I said "**** this" and hung up.
Good job Bucks.

Have you seen the people who go to the games? Like a little 50 Cent is gonna get them outta their seats. And don't give me the crap about a different crowd being brought in by the music. Not happening.
On a side note, if the Bucks ever start to play that Gwen Stephani song the Pistons use all the time during the game I'm going to cancel my tickets.
Anyway, Energee is noticably better than in previous years. Remember these?

Kohl was in Madison that night, for the 10 year anniversary ceremony of the Kohl Center during the WI/NW game.

Thanks for the info.
Ok...
So he had a legit engagement that couldn't be rescheduled, due to it being an anniversary. Fair enough. Considering that had to be on the schedule already, the Moncrief ceremony should never have been scheduled for that same night.

Agreed. It was a major insult to the team's greatest ambassador and second-greatest player of all time that the owner didn't think it was important enough for him to be there. I understand Kohl wanted to be in Madison at the Badgers game. That's legit. But then re-schedule Sid's ceremony. Totally classless move by the Bucks and Kohl in my opinion.
Back on topic - I also think the Energee girls get a bad rap. There's some talent there. But somebody really does need to pull the plug on the "Land Down Under" song whenever Bogut scores. I cringe every time I hear it.
Nothing will not break me.

I don't think hip hop plays very well in most NBA arenas. I'm not saying that you can't get away with playing some, but it's not going to seem cosmopolitan or "cool" to most people who attend NBA games if that's all you play. It would just irritate them.jerrod wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
do you really think the demographics of the crowd at a bucks game is really so completely different than at any other nba game?
