The Magic have 10 more home games than away games after January and they also have no more long road trips. I expect the Magic to get on a roll winning wise in February.

I believe they will win 50 to 55 games this year and the division.

Well, for starters, if we win 50 games we're not likely to play Detroit in the first round.

So, if we lose to Detroit in the Playoffs, that's probably alright with most people. I mean don't get me wrong, no one wants to lose, but I think most people will be okay with us making it to at least the second round. It's another step forward.

I respectfully disagree devin.. Dosent matter if we lose to detroit in first round, or second round.. Don't really count that as a step forward (most on the board wouldnt anyway)
There will be life after Dwight.

I'll take the second round.

since this thread we have gone 5-3, with 30 games remaining, including tonight against the Cavs at home, my updated prediction is 47-35...that has us going 15-15 the rest of the way...

18 home games remaining
12 road games remaining

Is this the new math I've been hearing about?

I assume the 29 is supposed to be 30?

47 wins would be in the range of my pre-season prediction (46-49).

yes, it's the if you read your pocket schedule and an online schedule incorrectly you will yield differing results math...

:D

there are 30 games left including this Cavs game tonight...

I decided to go 15-15 for the remainder as not only a safety call, but im basically expecting the guys to give up a few "easy" games...

Looking at the schedule, I think the Magic will finish with 50 wins.

I expect a few hiccups along the way, but also a few unexpected wins. I think they'll land somewhere in the 49-51 win range.

23 more wins?

Possible, all depends not only on the health of the Magic, but the health of all of those losing teams coming up on the schedule. I'd expect that there may be some tanking going on very soon, and the Magic should profit from that.

Well, now it would be 18 wins. This thread is old.

18-12 over the final 30 games would give the Magic 50 wins.

Magic currently have a 0.615 win-percentage....if you multiply the 30 games left by that win percentage you get a shade over 18.....if things stay the way they are, all signs point to a 50 win team.

If we win tonight against the depleted Cavs team, we have to go 17 and 12 over the remaining games.

We don't go out West at all the rest of the season, which is comprised of 17 home games, and 12 road games.

We still have to play:

Philly 3x
New Jersey
New York 2x
Miami
Indiana
Atlanta 3x
Milwaukee
Chicago
Minnesota

Eight of the above games make up the 12 that are left on the road.

wicked impossible, or just plausible enough?

after all, we only have to stay slightly over .500 the rest of the way to accomplish it...

Just the math, and the Magic are on pace for over 50 wins. 60% is above their current average. Add to this that there IS NOT A SINGLE western game left on the road, one has to like the odds.

Those easy games are probably going to come from the bottom feeders fighting for a playoff spot which is almost every team Hairy Midget listed earlier. (PHI 3x, NJ, IND, ATL, etc)

Hopefully these teams prove me wrong with uninspired performances.

Either way, MAGIX FR TEH W1N!
