I just noticed both are having very similar seasons
Tracy McGrady
6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)
21.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 5.4 apg in 35.2 minutes
Outgoing Players
Corey Maggette
6-6 SF from Duke
21.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.6 apg in 35.5 minutes
who would you take? thoughts?

Before you look at their stats you might want to check how many games Mcgrady has left early thanks to injury. If he had decided to sit instead of trying to play through a strained tendon his stats would be markedly higher.
Just looking at the box scores it's obvious when he's been healthy and when he hasn't.

WTF? There's no comparison.
TMac can throw up 40 point games if he wants to but Maggette can't. TMac is also a floor general while Magette isn't. This is a disgrace to Tmac.

T-Mac chucks a lot but this is still T-Mac easily, unless you don't want to count defense (which Maggette never plays) or playmaking ability (which Maggette has none of)...
Also for the record Corey Maggette is even more injury prone than T-Pain.

Maggette is a good player..but he is very 1-D IMO..he doesn't create plays for his teammates as good as an elite perimeter player..McGrady is one of the better playmakers in the NBA, so that alone puts him easily above Maggette, especially when you consider his scoring ability..
Maggette is a pretty poor playmaker by looking at stats..he's one of the best at getting to the line, he has been for years..he's an efficient scorer..he would always need another player to carry him when his game is off though, since he doesn't give you anything else..

Wow I'm disappointed with the way McGrady's season has gone with injuries and inconsistencies and almost refuse to defend him these days, but Corey Maggette? Honestly?
Stats are mis-leading with McGrady, he's left 4 games at halftime and played hurt majority of the season after the first couple of weeks. It's not an excuse, since he's been real fragile this season, but to put into perspective, he's averaging nearly 26 ppg, over 5 and a half rebounds, and 6 assists on 44% taking out just those 4 games. Certainly much better than what he's averaging currently, again not an excuse, but something to think about.
He's the better and more feared scorer. Nobody game plans around Maggette as they do with McGrady, they're comparable rebounders, but McGrady is a vastly better play-maker and passer and it's not really even close. McGrady is arguably the better defender as well. Maggette is better at creating contact, getting to the line and finishing, but that's essentially it.
McGrady has been more injured this season, but he's been the more healthier player any other season in his career not counting the year he had two seasons ago.
I like Maggette, he's an aggressive player and is great at getting to the rim and the free throw line, but I don't think his impact on the game is really anywhere near even a 75% McGrady.
