bargnani is a bust.it will take some time for raps fans to realize this.i would take at least 7-8 players from that draft before him.raptors are not getting the only center behind d12 that average a double double in the EAST for a BUST.and pls...stop talking about dally's contract...he is 26 and has 3 more years left on hic contract.this mean his contract it's as long as probably his prime so you would get the maximum out of him.32 mil/3 years is not a very good contract but it's exactly what a double double 26 years old center is worth today(i agree that it's a little too much but that's it..that's the price around the league ).watch out what contracts will biendris/bynum(i agree he has way more potential but his contract will also be bigger)/okafor(also a little better player -bigger contract) will get.

You're going to get a lot of opposition to a deal like this but many Raptor fans see it as a very necessary move to improve the inside defense and rebounding. Simply put, Bargs isn't a Center and while he might become a 20 ppg scorer in time, he will never be what this team needs in terms of guarding the basket and rebounding the ball.

That said, Toronto shouldn't be throwing in a first rounder too. Bargnani + giving all that instant cap relief and taking Green's awful contract should be enough.

Yeah...the first rounder is definitely over the top. Otherwise, it's not too crazy, although I don't think either team does it. Take out the #1, and it's Dalembert for Bargnani. The Raptors give up more quantity garbage, while WG actually is probably more valuable in the 8 man rotation than the 3 players leaving.

Raptors end up with...
Calderon/Ford
AP/Green
Moon/Delfino/Kapono
Bosh/Humphries
Dalembert/Rasho

Sixers end up with...
Miller/Williams/Ollie/Dixon
Iguodala/Carney/
Young/Graham
Bargnani/Smith/Garbajosa
Evans??/Booth

Looking at the rosters you end up with, the Sixers should pass. Raptors core rotation actually looks a little better...that team would be more competitive in the East.

Toronto can't get Dalembert from the Sixers, because of Dalembert's defensive presence. Which is why a Toronto would want him.

The Sixers need someone to anchor their defense and intimidate shooters. In fact they need another player to do it as well as get 18 and 10 on the low block to become good.

For a young center, Dalembert at $10 mil. a year isn't a bad contract, because there aren't many centers out there who can anchor the back line.

Unless they are overwhelmed the Sixers will pass on any offer for Sammy.

Dalembert would be a great fit in Toronto. If I were running Toronto, I'd certainly be in favor of Bargnani + filler for Dalembert, but I don't think Philly would go for it.

The bottom line is that Dalembert is a young, top 10 center. He may not be a superstar but he is a defensive anchor - a building block. Those kinds of players are pretty hard to find.

Bargnani is a luxury, not a building block. He's a finesse big man with an outside shot. Sure it's nice to have a guy like that, but it's not essential. And you can find similar players in free agency. Every year, there's a guy like that available for the MLE. Last year, it was Joe Smith. The year before, Udonis Haslem. The year before that, Donyell Marshall.

I agree with Philly fans who say Dally is a defensive anchor and should be kept. I've always wanted to see him in MN....both when KG was here and still now. Would Philly consider this?

Dally/Willie Green

for

Ratliff ($11.6m expiring), Rashad McCants, and future Miami #1 (likely in 2009)

Unless Foye or brewer or the minesota 08 pick is headed on a flight to philly, Dalembert would be on one to Minnesota
