Exactly the reason Cuban is talking him up. If you want to trade a player you make sure the media knows how amazing his potential is.

I never liked Harris' game. He just seems severely overrated in every aspect.

His defence is average at best. He won't shut down an opposing guard, but his flopping gets them in foul trouble.

His shooting is weak (however, this can improve easily over time). Right now, he has no range at 3, and a streaky mid range jumper even when left open. Now maybe I'm a bit harsh on his shot since our whole team seems to be able to make shots.

His playmaking abilities will never reach that of CP, DWill, TJ, Calderon, or even Conley from what I've seen from him so far. I agree with the comparison with Alvin. He won't set up a teammate for easy layups or wide open shots. He just shares the ball around.

Cuban must've meant potential top 10 PG.

If you're the Nets, do you trade J.Kidd for him?

Defense alone this guy's a top 10 PG. He's a ridiculous shut down defender vs almost any PG. As his passing game matures since we already know he can score he's no doubt on path to be a great PG in this league.

Don't you mean if he is so bad why does every team who offers Dallas a star demand Devin Harris in return and get declined?

I'm pretty sure he's on the table for J.Kidd.

...rather than the Nets demanding him in return and being rebuffed? Prove it. He's exactly the guy I'd be after in exchange for Kidd if I were the Nets and if I were the Blazers I'd shut them down the same way the Lakers turned down Bynum for Kidd last season.

Well, neither of us can prove it either way.

All I know, through the press, is that the Mavs want J.Kidd badly and are prepared to extend his 20 million for another season.

If they know they know they want Kidd and are prepared to pay him then I'm assuming they're prepared to give up Harris

With all of the dramatic trades happening out West I'd LOVE to see a Harris for Kidd deal. I'm already giddy over the playoffs in the West, but Kidd in Dallas would make it that much more intriguing.

The playoffs out West are going to be an absolute blood bath. I just love saying that, blood bath. Ba-lud bath!

Well I agree on the defensive aspect. I would rank Harris as the best in the league at the PG spot.

As for right now I would rank it

1) Paul
2) Nash
3) Deron Williams
4) Billups
Tie 5) Calderon and Kidd

As a Raps fan I'd rather the Nets keep Kidd. But as a fan, how could you not want the Mavs to get Kidd? Entertainment baby!
