OT: STARBURY's

Post#1 » by teamLeiweke » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:49 pm

WOWOWOWOW!!!!!

If you like basketball shoes, go to Buffalo ASAP!!

I just went to Buffalo on the weekend, these shoes are as comfortable as my $90 Nikes!!!

I picked up 4 different styles of Starbury's... they were $8.90 EACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOUR new basketball shoes, nice looking, comfortable, for $40!!!!!!!

It was at a store called Steve and Barry's.... I never knew this store existed, the store is amazing itself.. everything in the store is $8.90, jackets, sweaters, golf shirts, jeans, shoes, you name it..

Sorry if any of you find this inappropriate for the board, but it kind of is Basketball related, and I WOULD BE HAPPY FIND OUT ABOUT INFO LIKE THIS IF I READ IT ON THE BOARD!!

Kudos to Stephon... amazing shoes!

LeBron James wants to punch you in the face right now !

I got fedup spending big $ on bball shoes esp since I only play pickup ball, not to mention the obscene profits & questionable work environment many of these shoes are made at.

I'm happy with the New Balance bball shoes. Still more expensive than the Starbury's and while they are going the way of the other shoe companies in contracting out their work & turning a blind eye to sub-contracting they still do make shoes in the USA.

There were reports that the Starbury's (edit) aren't as good if your a serious bball player (won't hold up to lots of wear and tear) but I think if your a 'weekend warrior' like me and if you have better things to do than fatten up Nike's wallets I'd say it's a good alternative for the $$-conscience shopper.

I cant imagine ever buying $100 Nikes again, it seems so wrong now... as long as they keep this up, I will forever go to Steve and Barry's to buy $8.90 new shoes.

Steve & Berry's is the ****. I've been going there for years. Now everything in the store is $9. Coats, shoes, shirts, pants.

They're not bad. I had the Starbury Ones and they wore out quick, the heel tore out after 3 months of playing ball. The Starbury Twos I got a year ago from my trip in NYC have held up though. Still...they're kinda ugly.

Steve and Barry's is awesome.

Sometimes the one near me has everything for $6.98 or less.

The shoes are decent, but I don't know if I'd play competitive basketball in them.

Ben Wallace also has stuff there also.

I love the store!

As for the shoes, their decent but I wouldn't wear them for serious basketball. However, for $7.98 i couldnt say no to a size 15 shoe. Haven't really worn them yet, I'm waiting for the snow to melt first.

But yeah the store is AWESOME!I

These have been out for a while. I've bought 7 pairs since and I've had a nice shoe rotation, 3 are sitting prim and proper in my closet.

The clothes are really nice too, particularly the jerseys, t-shirts.

I go crazy over the store too, it's just too bad its exclusive to the states.

I do love what Steph has done, and it's about time... but im a sucker for Jordans, and seeing MJ has retired I have to make sure he can pay his gambling debts.

I've been to Steve and Barry's in Walden Galleria a lot but I didn't buy anything.. The shoes are not quality enough to wear for serious ball, and not good looking enough to wear casual IMO...

The shorts and shirts are pretty good though... if you don't mind NYK colours that is...

I own 2 pairs of starburys and they are amazing. Much better than some of the expensive shoes out there.

They've got lots of great stuff, really cheap too (price not quality).

Definitely worth the trip.
