Now in saying that, being the most talented doesnt make you the best player. Thats were Jordan comes in to play. If Kobe runs off like 3 or 4 rings in the next 6 years people will be singing another tune. Its funny how Nikes top guy always seem to get the credit....at least from the media as the best player in the game. First MJ now LB. Its funny how that works :dontknow:

Honestly, the only place in the world, where there's an actual debate over who is better: Jordan or Kobe, is in LA.

Gee, I wonder why? :noway:

and retards like you dont understand the difference between having talent and being a basketball player. You can be the worlds best H.O.R.S.E player but not be good at playing basketball. Here let me give you another example. Talent is Kobe pulling up for a 3pt shot left handed in the corner and it hitting bottom net....in a game. And yes that did acually happen. Im not saying that Jordan cant do it but I never seen it. Its amazing how MJ fans get pissed when this topic comes up. That just lets me know that you actaually feel the same way.

:banghead: omfg! Only homers like you make that kind of shot as a basis for kobe being the most talented player in NBA history ever LOL!!!!

Seriously, who fck are you kidding? Thats why Kobe is hated here because of numbnuts like you.

Wow thats a lot of bullcrap to swallow. They should be fired as analysts. And only homers like you will buy it LOL

Eh it's not as ridiculous as you think. I believe both Jalen Rose and Mark Jackson have said that they believe that Kobe Bryant will considered better than Jordan when its all said and done. O yea, both Rose and Jackson played with against both of MJ and Kobe when they were somewhat in their primes so they should have a good idea of what they're talking about and not just spewing about bs.

With that said, I understand why a majority of people consider MJ to be the GOAT. Afterall he was really the only 2-guard to consistently LEAD his team to championships. But with that said, Kobe looks like he has a very good chance to do the same. I personally don't think the comparison is that ridiculous, but maybe i just have my homer glasses on.

and lol at jordansbulls wasting like 2 hours to roll off all those stats. MVP awards have ALOT to do with public opinion and popularity. Jordan played in an era of big men, so naturally he was the most popular. Kobe on the other hand plays in a league dominated by swingmen and besides nash the past couple years, that's where the MVP awards seem to have been going. The MVP award really has more to do with if your team is winning, if you're shooting close to 50%, if you get 10 boards or assists a game, etc. more than skill level, one's overall impact on the game. I believe Mark Stein said that these parameters were necessary and couldn't be judged on how good a player actually is or else Kobe would be winning the MVP award every year.

Anyway, there are my 2 cents. Again, MJ is the GOAT. For now, and i wouldn't be suprised if Kobe takes his place when Kobe retires but hell i wouldn't be suprised if MJ remains the GOAT either.

Marion is a hell of a lot closer to Pippen than Wade is to Jordan, but both are laughable.

Actually it's because Jordan played a massive portion of his career in a run and gun league with no three point shooting and extremely high fg%. Combine that with the overall weakness of his competition at the SG position (offensively and defensively) and the complete lack of defense played by teams in that era compared today.

It's very much Kobe vs Wade (MJ) again. Wade shoots a much higher percentage because of his lack of 3 point attempts. Most of Jordan's career he didn't shoot them either. He had Steve Kerr, Paxson, Craig Hodges, and Pippen doing that for him.

Of course the problem with what you're saying and what Jodansbulls is saying lies in the fact that stats!=skill especially when comparing stats across eras as distinctly different as Jordan's era vs RealGM era. the playstyles are completely different and the stats are completely different.

If you want to break down film and dissect technique then feel free to do so but I guarantee you that you won't be pleased with the results once you really take a look at defense from the 1980's and early 1990's.

Kobe is better than Jordan! He is! Really!

The Lakers this season play at a higher pace (96.1 poss/gm) than any of the Bulls' championship teams (91-95 poss/gm), and their pace last season was comparable/higher than 5 of the 6 Bulls' championships. League averages in ppg/FG% have been comparable or higher from '06-'08 as they were from '96-'98. You know, those years when a 33-35 year old Jordan was still putting up a higher PER/EFF than anything Kobe's ever done.
