Tinsley out until All-Star Break

Post#1 » by count55 » Tue Feb 12, 2008 2:41 am

Well, I must've been sleeping on this one, as it says:

Indiana Pacers point guard Jamaal Tinsley said his sore left knee will cause him to be out until at least after the All-Star break.

"They saw some inflammation in (the knee)," Tinsley said about the MRI performed Friday. "It's something they say will have me out a couple of more games, hopefully until right after the All-Star break, but I really don't know right now."

It's only a couple games, I guess, but...

In other, more concerning news:

Pacers forward Mike Dunleavy sat out the second half with a bruised knee. He injured his knee on a drive five minutes into the game. He immediately left the game, but returned about three minutes later.

Dunleavy played the rest of the first half with a noticeable limp. He finished with 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting.

O'Brien said he doesn't know how severe the injury is.

This was in yesterday's paper, so I guess it's kinda old news.

By "Tinsley will be out with a bad knee" do they mean "O'Brien has suspended Tinsley for conduct detrimental to the team?" Who knows?

Granted Jamal is a better player than Diener, Owens and Daniels I find it maddening to watch him play. I am not shedding tears at this news.

when tinsely says he'll be out for a while - does it mean that he's asking to be traded?

that is what i heard on a radio show in toronto just a few minutes ago.

apparently, tinsely wants out and hates jim o'brien, and not just him, just about every player hates their coach....

they feel like he doesn't treat them like men.

it was also said that some of them would like to try a latrell sprewell on him!

when i heard that I went "woah" and so did the host.

the guy who said it, petery vescey can sometimes be over the top, but he said thats what some pacer players said to him, that he was shocked by it, and that now he knows why O'brien was fired from the Sixers - even after he got them to the playoffs

apparently rick patino thinks that O'brien is the "kind of guy who will work for 24 hrs, but also the kind of guy who wouldn't make friends."

as pacer fans, is Jim that much of a prick? and how long has tinsley been out? when the raptors last played the pacers, he was out. has he been out since then?

I don't see that. O'Brien and Tinsley made friends quite quickly and Tins' apparently really liked working for him up through most of the season (that I know of).

I haven't seen/heard/read any of the vitriol, and knowing how open our team is with interviews (seriously, if something is happening, there's no way that JO would keep it quiet) we'd hear it if there was smoke to this fire.

Methinks Vescey is just throwing crap out there again and has no idea what's happening.

I thought Vescey claimed to be nowhere near BFF with Jamaal. Wasn't that in his article about how Reggie was a despicable human being because he refused to support Jamaal at the funeral of Jamaal's family member?

Not to be confused with a B-U-F-F, which is a military acronym for what the crews lovingly called B-52 bombers.

isn't obrien the dude that suspended jamal for his actions - that i don't think they let the media know about it.

i guess they tried to hide it, and stephen jackson spilled the beans.

yeah, i'm sure o'brien and tinsley are the best of friends after that.

i think they may have liked each other at the beginning because tinsley sorta thrives in a faster paced team which jim allowed

jim apparently wasn't liked by veterans and even young guys in philly and was fired partly because of his attitude even though they made the playoffs. if rick patino thinks you are a prick....well.

no it wasn't that article - i looked. he writes about jamaal/pacers a lot (especially for a NY Post columnist). but in one of the recent columns about the shooting i'm fairly sure i remember reading vescey talk about how much he liked tinsley personally and talked about tinsley interacting with vescey's family. i'm not crazy, i'm not crazy, i'm not crazy, i'm not crazy...

Yeah, i do remember hearing that Vescey does have his connections with Tinsley and of course the Pacers. In the article or in an interview after the latest Tinsley shooting, i do remember hearing that Vescey had the most indepth story and most accurate story of any reporter in the media, even better then the Indy Star reports. If Vescey talks about the Pacers, in any way or shape, it's usually right. Seems like he's a doofus when it comes to insight info on the rest of the league, but with the Pacers he's usually spot on.

And scoot, thanks for the BFF translation. haha

i was going to make some joke here but i decided given how well (see: poorly) my jokse and sarcastic commentary go over on this board i figured it'd just make me seem creepy -- a Dateline/Chris Hansen kind of creepy.

Hmm I have never believed Vescey too much, but we shall see.

I do find it odd though, when Indiana started the year out strong Jamal talked about how much he loved JOB's system. Now this? Is he bi-polar or what?

I know not many here will agree with me, but I think in this case I am going to back JOB. I hated when Carslile was soft and never got on these guys. If you don't want your coach to be all over you play better than what you have been, bottom line. I am sick and tired of the inmates running the asylum here when they obviously aren't that good or know what they are doing.

Don't mistake this as me liking JOB. But in terms of problems I think it goes 1. Tinsley 2. O'neals contract 3. Muphs Contract 4. O'Brien. I am not a fan, but this team has bigger issues to tackle.

Seem that ever since the "injury"/ Film sesion suspention, Tins 8 JOB have been on the outs, & Tin's PT has been for not & his injury has gotten worse..... :noway: SSDD.....

I am so done w/ this turd. I bought in 1 too many times. Time has come to pass & flush this waist & start over @ PG.
I also think maybe JOB should be 1 & done & Larry needs to be accountable! This s**t is getting old!
