The trade makes the NBA looked like a huge, corrupt, joke. I'm sorry, but I believe this trade has collusion written all over it. Good for the NBA's bottom line, but terrible for those who care about the competitive balance of the league. I hope Wallace enjoys his new yacht courtesy of Mr. Buss...

I'm not a Spurs fan but I thought it was obvious that Pop's comments were made "tongue in cheek". I think his dry wit was misinterpreted as something much more harsh.

SOUR GRAPES!!!! tell us Coach POPA, how do they taste? let me help you cry, "waaaaaahhh, da big bad Lakers stole a good player that might make them better than my Team, waaaaaaaaaah, oh wait, we won the Championship last year, waaaahhhhhaahhhhahahahahah"

Hell last time I looked you STOLE Finley, Stodomire, Barry...

Sure get on a freakin' committee so you can void any trade that improves any other Team besides the Spurs. I would have been embaressed too! Now if he was in fact joking, then he needs to let the rest of us and the Media in on it as it looks like sour grapes to me..

In the NBA I don't think anyone is ever allowed to vote for themselves or even their players. Take the All Star game for example, coaches aren't allowed to vote for players from their team. Now, here is pop saying that he wishes a committee were started, followed by saying "I would vote myself into that committee and say no to that trade." When a person says they would vote themselves onto a committee and start making orders, the comment becomes an "over the top", which enters the humor world. Apparently nobody is able to understand this.

Its like saying, I wish there was a playboy committee that oversaw all the models. I'd vote myself into that committee and order the girls to like me.

You will be a long-time ballboy with this intelligence.

Spurs didn't get Stoudamire, Finley and Barry by trade. All of them were free-agent signings, like your Payton and Malone addition.

But Gasol trade is one sided and totally meanignless trade for Memphis. Every western team should be restless by this trade. Not because of Lakers is too much stronger now, Spurs is still better team. This one sided trades are hurting the equilibrum of the league.

^ that guy is one of the dumbest guys on tv. LOL who cares what he thinks? he made a number of mistakes in that piece. "2 new centers in the west??" hahahaha last time i checked Memphis were a West team already. Gasol has been playing in the west since he was drafted.

"looking up at the Lakers since Shaq left" Last time i checked we beat a Shaq led lakers to our 2003 championship. What a tool!

He has zero credibility.

Pop should've kept his mouth shut. Joking or not he embarrassed your franchise to say the least.

But since it wasn't serious, it's not an embarassment.

I don't think it matters, and don't think it matters to the guys in that locker room and on that set of chairs - it only matters to people who look into certain things too much. Partly of those people, it's a silly part of their job.

Yeah... well the same thing can be said of Phil Jackson when he ripped your own team for not being able to stop penetration. We can play that game too...

Phil ripping his own team is irrelevant, and so is that childish "jeez look at all the Laker fans that come out of nowhere", what does that have to do with a coach talking out the side of his ass about a deal he wasn't in on or had no clue what was going on ?

Like I said joking or not how was the Laker organization to know how it came out of his mouth? It's very coward of you guys to try and justify what he meant. Were you guys there?...................Hell no.

What do you know about our team? Clearly nothing... It isn't my fault that you are so uptight that you can't comprehend the situation that happened what... a week* ago.

Why is it childish that I point out that there is an influx of Laker posters... and honestly you should be the last person talking about being childish given that you have trolled in no less than 6 different boards.
