Chuck, a little Contradicting
I caught it on the broadcast, which I think was during one of the past games where he was saying how Joe Johnson shouldn't be an all-star because of his team's record.
It's fine to say Johnson shouldn't be an all-star for whatever reason, but he was saying it for the same reason that a lot of people criticized Bosh being on all-star teams back when Toronto had a sh*tty record.
I just thought he was being a little hypocritical, considering he would defend Bosh being on a bad team before.
I'm not trying to hate on Chuck, I still love the dude, but thought it was a bit funny when he said that as a reason to argue that Johnson shouldn't be on the all-star team.

It's not hypcritical. Other players are putting up better or at the least comparable numbers to Johnson, playing for better teams. Bosh wasn't in that situation 2 years ago (the only year he made the all star team while on a **** Raptors squad). His stats compared to other bigs in the east were more than enough to get him voted into the game by the coaches that year.
His competition that year was Dwight Howard putting up 7 less ppg and 3 more rpg, on a comparable team, but playing worse defensively (that year). After Howard, he had to beat out Eddy Curry.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Did he say Wade shouldn't be there because of the bad team record? Jason Kidd? No, he said Johnson. Johnson's putting up 21/5/4, which are pretty good numbers. But Turkoglu's putting up 19.5/6/4.5 on a better team. Jose is putting up ridiculously efficient numbers, for a better team.
The bad team argument ties into all of that. If Johnson was putting up 24/8/4 like Wade, or 11/10/8 like Kidd, the bad team argument wouldn't make much sense. In Johnson's case, it does.

This 'better team' stuff drives me crazy. Is Dwayne Wade the best shooting guard in the East? Most people would say yes, so put him on the all-star team. It really doesn't matter than Miami sucks. Why would you punish a good player for being surrounded by crap?
We already have the playoffs to reward good teams. The all-star game is there to reward the best players.

Well Joe Johnson is on an Atlanta Hawks team that is below .500. Hedo Turkoglu is on a Magic team which is 3rd in the East right now putting up better numbers (except for PPG, he's 2 points less) in a more consistent manner, so you do the math.

Man, if we start a thread for every Chuck contradiction, the entire front page would be filled with them. I found this piece of software which allows you to sync radio with TV broadcasts:

I don't think Chuck is even very good at calling games. Seriously, do he and Leo have ADD or something? Because half the time they are off on some tangent; they'll go minutes at a time talking about something totally unrelated to the game. It's so annoying. And their attempt at being funny, ugh. Jack, Paul, and Eric are WAY better.

Chuck loves the Raptors, and it has biased him. Of course Chuck is a hypocrite,

I just about lost my mind last night when they showed Popovich scratching his ass while the play was going on.
Anyway, TV productions thats a whole 'nother story.
IMO, Chuck always has this ridiculous Raptors bias...too bad, he seems like a bright guy that would actually have a decent discussion on things if he actually spoke what was on his mind.

Being a homer...I don't like it, but OK I accept it. He loves the Raps, and also happens to be employed by them- he's never going to be critical of the team.
What annoys me is how is so quick and eager to take shots at the other team, yet turns a blind eye if the same thing happens on our side. How many times has he criticized a player's "body language"...yet when Bargs was playing like absolute crap and looked half-assleep, Chuck didn't say a word about him.
...and what is with him and ball rotation. He mentions this like every game, "beautiful ball rotation"...why something so peculiar, why not his follow-through or something...
On another note, game production has been absolutely CRAP this season. It would be better if they ditched all their gimmicks and just show the damn game. I could care less what Damon Stoudamire's career stats are when the game is being played. I don't care for Popovich's reaction if you have to show instead of the actual game. Enough with the coaches edge, subway rap-up, impact players, ask the expert, useless stats and whatnot. Just show me the damn game. If there's extra time, go ahead, but don't ruin the game because of those things.

Actually, he has complained about Kidd starting and the Nets record. He really thinks Jose should be there and his homerism has clouded his judgement completely. Hypocrite, I say yes.

Chuck and Leo are both completely clueless. Chuck's too obsessed with the Raptors and it makes his opinion useless. Leo's too obsessed with Sammy D and Team Canada so he just talks about player's nationalities.
Message to both, I'll judge the Raptors play on my own, and I already know most players nationalities so stop force feeding me this sh*t and broadcast the damn game.
