I'm glad SVG called Dwight out, but a little wary of how the media is going to take this story. ESPN already has a headline up, "SVG slams Howard...".

Also, I've noticed Dwights laziness happening for over 2 weeks. Its obviously hurting the team (ex. last night) and can't continue any longer.

We need a point gaurd who cann pass the ball to dwight, this is getting ridiculous that he is often open in the post, and he cannot get the ball because the guards are shoot happy.

And for much of the time the forwards as well.

I agree with Stan on this issue. Dwight's offense is not good enough for him to demand the ball. until he gets 2 viable go to moves, he will never be an offensive threat outside of putbacks, finishing the break, and dunks. He simply cannot be a franchise center if he continues to be so selfish. Making Larry Hughes look like Gilbert AArenas is unforgivable. Do you think Moses malone would ever have let a guard continuously drive the lane like that?

prorl wrote:Im glad that Dwight was called out. Quite frankly he needed to be called out. He has been playing lazy for a while now, not just last night. I know i have called him out, so has Thief and others on here so its been happening for a while. Dwight is the leader of this team and he has to lead by example and he hasent been. I think Stan did the right thing, Stan needed to put his foot down.

GET HIM MORE TOUCHES!. What the heck is wrong with this team. He goes to the ft line the most in the NBA, he leads the NBA in dunks, somebody get him the f'n ball. We were 16-4 when he got double teamed and kicked it out to his 3 point threats. When he gets the ball he is constantly sweating and hustling on both sides, WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH OUR GUARDS. STOPP SHOTITNG THE BALL. I hate when we call a timeout and the play we get after is a bunch of dribbling and a CONTESTED shot by NELSON who misses and Howard who feels like casper doesn't even bother to get the board. There is a problem here, and even though Turk is our best scorer right now, we need to consider him in a trade since his stock is up, give up some expiring contracts and get a solid 4 who can rebound and score and give some defensive presence or a pg who can easily get 10 assits per game since DWIGHT IS ALWAYS F"N OPEN AND DOOLING?NELSON?AND ARROYO FAIL TO MAKE A GOOD PASS TO HIM... instead Turk is the only one who could do it. Lewis is being critiszied but in reality he's a fyness 3 who scores and attacks the basket, not a 4 mingeling with the carlos boozers and Drew Goodens under the rim. OTIS DO SOMETHING before we end up with just 44 wins..

The reaction from First Take was not good. Here's a summary:

2 Stews: SVG made a HUGE mistake by calling Dwight out. Should have taken him aside. He's lucky that Dwight is not a primadona and probably won't make a big deal out of this.

Skip: SVG shouldn't have called him out, but was he right in what he said? (everyone agrees). Dwight is one of those players that is listening to his agents behind his back about what sells shoes/commercials (offense). Dwight is a potential superstar, but hasn't yet developed that Tim Duncan instinct. This sends message to rest of players about how SVG might treat them if they screw up. Now the Magic players know what the Heat players knew when SVG was coaching - (I don't know what that means, I never knew that the Heat players had a problem with SVG. Maybe he's just talking out of his ***?)

They people on ESPN dont watch Magic games on a consistant basis. Dwight has been slacking off for weeks and deserved to be called out. Stan is not afraid to call people out, whether that is Bogans, who he has called out a couple of times, or the star of the team in Dwight.

dwight has been lazy on defense and went about the wrong way to express his need of the ball. but still he deserves the have the ball. these games where he only takes 7,8, or 10 shots a game in 40 minutes is just plain ridiculous.

ya no problem

basically the 2 radio guy brothers (from atlanta) said svg made a huge mistake calling him out like that, he's not a primadonna like most nba stars and a really nice humble kid avg. 21 pts and 14 reb and he shouldve taken him by the side and kept it "in house" business

skip was like "was svg right in what he said though" and then the other 2 kinda were like maybe, and the consensus was maybe it wasnt the best thing to do but he did have a point in that d12 has a lot more to do to than just score. Then skip mentioned how he's not yet tim duncan in that he can control the game w/o scoring and still dominate.

How do we know that this hasn't been an ongoing private issue that SVG and D12 haven't talked about before?

I think the only Heat player that had a problem with SVG was Shaq. Probably for the same reasons too....

And now Shaq is gone from Miami.

One of the wiretaps indicated that Shaq was not wanting to play for Riles anymore, and that he was healthy enough to play but just didn't.
