Met the Raps and Spurs last night

Post#1 » by A2hanif » Tue Feb 12, 2008 3:47 pm

Was at C-lounge last night and who walks in at 12 30 ish? Duncan, Ginobli, Oberto, Stoudemire, Horry, Finley, Rasho, TJ, Joey, Moon, and Delfino. Got to talk to all of them, I wished Moon good luck, it seemed like he enjoys the fan attention. I offered to buy a round, but all the raps with the exception of Joey were drinking water. Rasho was buying rounds for the spurs players. Manu was a dick, wanted to be left alone, but Duncan was genuinely nice, was very happy to shake hands and talk for a bit. TJ's wrist was wrapped up and he was wearing a sleeve. Word of advice, the raps are always at C-lounge after monday night home games, it's industry night so there are a lot of professionals, not too many youngins.

Duncan is such a classy guy. :)

I would've lost my mind if those guys walked into a club I was hanging at.

If I were Joey I'd be drinking, too.

I don't blame you. I'm a huge Raps/Spurs fan, so getting to meet the lot of them would've been too much for my brain to process.

Lol, I don't understand why people get so awe-struck when they see Ball players. I thought it was just little girls who got the starry eyes.

The Raptors need to be mourning the loss, not going out and partying. Especially with the team that just kicked your ass. Sorry if I sound harsh but that's how I feel.

It's people who you watch on a daily basis. You respect them because they're among the best athletes on Earth so to see them right beside you is pretty cool, but I wasn't awe struck.

You're missing that Rasho is friends with many of the spurs, as well as the argentinian connection.

Nope, I'm not missing that at all. Fine, maybe Rasho and Delfino but what about Ford, Moon and Joey. Sorry for being a bitch about this but as a hardcore fan, it just irks me a little.

^^^Basketball's different than hockey.

At the end of a hockey playoff series, the opposing teams shake hands. Its something that mystifies other athletes, i am sure.

In basketball, you put your game face on during the game (unless your initials are VC) and you take it off after the game.

after I play rec hockey, i never ever go for drinks with the opposing team. when i play ultimate, its tradition to go.

Joey's twin brother Stephen spent a training camp with the Spurs and so he actually knows some on the Spurs players. Ford played at UT about 100 miles from San Antonio.

Well apparently basketball is not a brotherhood for all of us.

Hey, this is after the game with good friends.
It's probably a good standing relationship where you show the other team around town.

And for a team like SA who is rarely here, showing them the nightlife could help our image.

Apparently TJ & Damon work out together or something like that during the offseason at Lucas' camp.

So, the only one left unaccounted for is Moon. The rook was probably just the caddy for the night.

For those bitching, it's one game of 82...you can't get too down and depressed over one loss...you have to be able to move on, what better way then to go for a few drinks with some friends.

Why would you offer to buy a round? They are millionairs except for moon.
