T-Mac at home, Yao on the road
Well I'm sure I'm not the only one that noticed that.
Just looks at Tracy's game on the road and at home. On the road he is a warrior, averagin' about 26 ppg which is great but at home......16ppg on terrible fg%, ft%? What the hell is that? I know Tracy hates TC but that big difference?
When you look at his last two games at home (vs. Cavs he was sick) vs. Hawks 15 points 8 ast and against Blazers 12 and 6 dishes. Last two games on the road vs. Bucks 33 and vs. Wolves 26.
The problem is in Tracy's head I belive. On the road like I said, he is a warrior he wants to play. He carrys the team on the road, he knows it is up to him wha the score will be. He wants to play, he is agressive, he attacks the basket, plays like a true scorer.
And at home everything is excatly different. Looks like he doesn't want to play. He seems like he doesn't need to play well at home, doesn't need to worry about anything. He is not agressive at all. He will take some stupid jumpers score that freakin' 16 points and that's all. At home he is not a scorer, he is a passer, he's not agressive at all.
Similar thing is with Yao. He is so good at home but he's much worse on the road. Seems like Yao can only play great at home and Tracy can only play great on the road.
We hell need to mix it. We need agressive T-Mac at home, we need a scorer. Not a pussy standin' and just passin' the ball.
I hope he will finally start to play a lot better at home, he will start to attack the basket cause he hasn't been doin' that. At home looks like he doesn't need to step up, play well.

I'd think so as well, but his play wont cut it against the elite teams. We are only 16-11 at home and a large reason is McGrady severely underplays shooting a pathetic percentage from everywhere on the floor. He really needs to step up his game in that category.

It's just a lack of motivation for T-Mac, and/or possibly to conserve his body. On the road opposing players and fans are more likely to trash talk him and sometimes that gets him going. Also road games are tighter down the stretch and that's when he becomes aggressive.
And if you think about it there hasn't been a game where the win is in jeopardy and he plays passively, home or away, because he does turn it on when he needs to. It's just that these past 3 home games were blowouts and most of our home losses were with him out so you can't blame his play for our home record.
I'm much more concerned about Yao's play because apparently the opposing players/crowds affects his play negatively.

That's a very lame excuse you gave there for McGrady.
Funny how you don't make a similarly stupid excuse for Yao to explain his poor games on the road. Shows where your loyalties are.

Hell I dont like TC either it can be something wrong with the rims but hell it's not that.
McGRady is just great on the road, one of the best in the leauge. Why? Because he carrys the team, he feels like he needs to do that, he is agressive!
At home he is standin' passin' and shootin' stupid J. Looks like he just doesn't want to shoot. He wants to pass but we don't wanna 12/16 pts from him, we wanna a lot more.
He just needs to understand he should play the same role at home. Yao has been great at home but he also needs to stay agressive. Call for the ball, drive inside, take to the ft line, make some shoots.
BEIN' AGRESSIVE! That's the key, he just needs to want to play, play like scorer, play like go to guy.
I hope he will do that against Sac and for the rest of the season.

Seriously... It's unacceptable to play like shat at home, when you are a great player on the road.
The Rockets front office should select a handful of McGrady haters and give them home season tickets, directly behind the Rockets bench. He needs a boost, the guy is too laid back to be on a basketball court.

Considering that they flashed a full screen graphic in the Portland game for about 15-30 seconds, I would hope not

They could always pull a SAW on him and hook a giant metal mousetrap to his jaw that's set to go off any time his BPM drops under 95. Not too sure if that would help with future contract negotiations though...

At home he just doesn't care about his shoot selection. He passes the ball, he is doin' that all the time in TC. He doesn't care about his scorin' like he does on the road. He is not agressive, sometimes he just got the ball on the way outside and tries a jumper. 15 shoots ain't enough I belive.

It's not enough IF he's shooting the ball well. But like you said, McGrady shot selection has been worse. While I know that he's our best option to close out games, sometimes I cringe when I see him take Rafer-like shots (What? Rafer-like? Moofs?).
Recently, we've won some games even with his poor shooting. While this won't fare against teams other elite teams in the league, if he shoots like this it surely won't help the team either. Most of us haven't had a chance to complain about this issue since our team's been winning.
Oh, BTW McTracy... NICE FIND!!!

Actually your reply shows more where your loyalties lie although everybody already knows where you stand.
And as others have said T-Mac is also trying to play within the offense but in reality a passive T-Mac not looking for his shot is hurting the offense because even though there is more ball movement the offense still focuses around T-Mac and Yao. T-Mac is also a very streaky scorer and he's not going to fit into a system like Adelman ran in SAC. T-Mac has to play like Drexler did for Adelman in POR.
That said we're winning so it's not a major concern. It'll be a concern if he plays this way vs the elite teams and in the playoffs. For Yao on the otherhand his motivation is never really in question, that's why his play on the road is a greater concern to me. Yao's next big game will be @NO vs Chandler who defends him very well 1on1.

Gonna have to win on the road in the playoffs. I think its more important that Yao steps up on the road than it is that McGrady steps up at home. We gonna do anything in the playoffs...we have to win on the road obviously.

If by a "passive T-Mac" you mean "T-Mac who clanks wide open 17 footers", then you'd be right. He just isn't playing well right now. Yao went through a stretch in December when he couldn't buy a bucket. It happens.
If you are giving McGrady the benefit of the doubt due to adjustment to the offense, then why don't you give Yao the benefit of the doubt for standing at the elbow like a stiff because Adelman wants him to rather than pulling a Shaq, howling for touches and undermining his coach? Adelman's schemes are far, far worse for Yao than McGrady.
Anyone who thinks that McGrady really plays well on the road has a lot of explaining to do with last year's playoffs, when McGrady basically didn't show up to the road games.

I'm not sure I follow you, I'm not giving anybody the benefit of the doubt. This trend of T-Mac at home and Yao on the road has developed over the past few years.
The fact of the matter is is that Yao is basically going to give you what he gives you night in or night out. He doesn't really have that extra gear because he's already giving it to you. T-Mac has that extra gear because he just cruises whenever he can.
