Rajon Rondo's Future With The Celtics...

Post#1 » by Matt34520 » Tue Feb 12, 2008 10:53 pm

Do you guys think we will have the money to resign him after next year?

I don't want Rondo to leave, I think his future is very bright.
Ray still got game.

I think DA's master plan is to trade him and an expiring ray allen for chris paul...

Just kidding.Rondo is a 6-7 mil player right now. Could be a 7-8 guy next year.

He's not an unrestricted FA until after the '10-'11 season so slow your roll. I don't see any way he gets away especially since Pierce and Allen will be off the books then.

Rondos contract extension will come into effect when Ray Allens is coming off. If Rondo keeps improving he could make himself a lot of money.

Hinrich got $10M/per. I think he can get closer to $10M right now then $6M.

C's have him for two years after this one, no? This is not worth discussing right now...

Rajon might be had for the MLE. Right now, hes playing with 3 bonafide allstars. Its hard to really see if he can lead a team or not. That would be sweet however if Chris Paul decides not to resign with N'Orleans. Then we can really make a play for him.

I would be ecstatic if we could re-sign Rondo for anything under $10M per year.

By my Fair$ numbers, Rondo's performance this season has been worth $12,789,412.04

By MRP, Rondo's performance this season has been worth $10,601,140

Fair$ is based off of my TEN+ rating. MRP (Marginal Revenue Product) is based off of WARP (Wins Above Replacement Player.)

He's already better than Al Jefferson so plan on 9-10 million a year. PG's are a rare commodity and although he lacks a jump shot he has other skills that compensate. The only question with Rondo is whether he remains a gamebreaker as he ages.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Rondo is going to be in Boston for at least the next 6-7 years.

There is no way we don't pick up his team option in 2009-2010.

He has a qualifying offer in 2010-2011 which it seems will stand and from there we will sign him for a 3-5 year contract.

Premature as it may be I forsee number 9 being retired in the rafters in honor of Rajon Rondo for his strong contribution in bringing multiple championships to the Boston Celtics.

Rondo will be with us for a long time and more than likely will retire a Celtic like Paul Pierce.

Luckily we don't have to worry about this for a while. But I can't imagine Danny giving up on him at this point.

I would love for him to get big money that means he's worth it. Danny has done a good job for judging young talent. The Perk deal is a perfect example of that and how his contract is based.
