LOL amazing.a mile in under 5 minutes? First thing I thought to myself was that he must have an incredible VO2 max.

Holy Crap, that's amazing! I remember when I was 11, I ran the mile in 8:24 : ) I was a chubby middle schooler
Even in high school though, the fastest mile I ever ran was, I believe, just under 6 minutes. That kids gonna be something, that's for sure.
Also, Wizenheimer, that's really fast as well!

yeah, it seemed so at the time and I thought I was pretty good. Everything just clicked that day and it was like a 'perfect' run for me as I think my best other time was around 5:14 and I only ran under 5:20 three times I think.

I blew it at district though...went out to fast and faded badly...moron.

That was the end of my running career because the next year I was at the U of O growing my hair long and stuffing towels under the dorm room door to keep the smoke from getting out.

Wow, this kid is amazing. While this doesn't mean he'll be an NBA player, he definitely has some spectacular skills and is very amazing for any individual let alone an 11 year old!

I'm with all you. I thought my sub-5 minute mile was amazing but the kid is 7 years younger and like 2 feet shorter and he still does it. Thats embarrassing.

Nice vid; thanks for the post. I know this is all fun and games, but I'm actually somewhat concerned for this kid as it seems he is the shortest of all his peers and his father looked pretty short as well.

I hope for his sake he can crack the 6 foot barrier because he definitely seems to have the drive and the skills to make it big some day.

Ya I know lifting weights at a young age will stunt growth, and he was ripped! I dunno if pushups, etc, has the same effect tho.

The comments on that website about him are disgusting.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Yeah. The kid is obviously preternaturally talented, but he needs to grow some feet to be anything other than an oddity. Grow, kid, grow.

he may be too short to play baskeball (tell that to mugsy bogues), but an eleven year old that can run a mile in under 5 minutes may end up an olympic-level middle or long distance runner.

I used to play with a kid like this. Dude was a freak, could handle like a pro and drain college three after college three at ten years old. A rich kid that was crazy dedicated with an insane dad who pushed him to no end. Little as hell though. That worked for 8th grade AAU and high school but he never grew after that. He's at American now, Garrison Carr.

I hope this little dude keeps his perspective and gets to be a kid for the four hours he isn't working out every night.
