OT: UWM takes Butler to OT

We took #10 Butler to OT and dropped the game in the end. Mike Green was a beast making some really tough shots...

Oh well. the Panthers are a young team and have some quality freshman contributing.

Five of Butler's top six scorers are graduating Seniors. For a mid-major, that would usually spell disaster, but Matt Howard has been a great contributer. It'll be interesting to see how they performer next year.

UWM, too.

Howard is an absolute beast in this league, he destroyed UWM @ Hinkle earlier in the year (as well as others). UWM was very fortunate to get Howard out of the game with 2 extremely quick fouls (1 that should have been on Green). Pretty much set the tone for a close game, especially since most Horizon teams defend Butler's 3 point attack better than the High Majors do. Butler & particularly Graves' 3 point % doesn't look pretty most nights, but they always grind it out and do what's needed to win.

I didnt think Jeter was going to do anything with these guys earlier in the season, but I really am impressed with the progress they've made. I just wonder if Rob Jeter is going to be able to recruit some bigs.
