James and it's not close.
Battling ridiculous homers one incredibly biased argument at a time.

Lebron but it's pretty close. Prime Pippen would be a top 5 player if he played in the NBA. Lebron is a top 3 player. Pippen is better than Lebron at every aspect of the game on the defensive end. On the offensive end, Lebron is better in every aspect except controlling the tempo. Offense>Defense

LBJ all the way.

Pippen is overrated, imo. He was a great defensive player, a good all-round player, and a perfect compliment to MJ. But, he was not the franchise superstar that could lead a team to the finals. Pippen was a great second star, LBJ is a great first star.

Bynum has tons of talent and potential and may be the man in the future but he hasn't proven himself enough to be on this list. Besides, he's a center - bad comparison.

Two excellent players.

The question for me is whether Pip's substantial defensive advantage gets overwhelmed by Bron's offensive prowess.

Although LeBron has improved his D substantially over the past year and a half, I personally don't think he holds a candle to Scottie. Scottie was a MEAN man defender and extremely good at disrupting passing lanes and frustrating an offence as a whole (paired with Jordan on-court, you can imagine a lot of PGs getting very nervous about completing the extra pass).

LeBron OTOH is a flat-out dominant offensive player (though I wish they called a hell of a lot more of his travels) who can punish in a variety of ways and who is almost unstoppable when he gets into a groove. He's also a better offensive co-ordinator than most point guards, which makes him a very deadly package on the court. Scottie was no slouch himself, of course, either in racking up assists or putting the ball in the basket.

For mine, BronBron's elite-level offensive skills beat out Pip's elite-level defensive skills. Whilst the gap between them on D is pretty large, the gap on O is still that little bit larger...

LeBron, but it's hard to argue against 6 rings.
