the thing is that he said the exact same thing after he left LA, about wade. also said that about riley.

I'm just waiting for him to proclaim dan'toni as the best coach he has ever played for
it's only a matter of time

lol, Shaq always does this. It's kind of sad, really.

Why can't he just give his co-stars props? Penny/Shaq went to the ECF and Finals, Kobe/Shaq won 3 titles, Wade/Shaq went to the ECF and also won a title. No reason to always diss his former star guards, especially Wade who he always had good things to say about the past couple of years.

I think this is more Shaq hyping up his current teammates than dissing his previous costars.
He never HAS had a point-guard like Nash. How could he have? Two-time MVP vs...Scott Skiles? Nick Van Exel? Ron Harper? Derek Fisher? Jason Williams?
Nonetheless, Shaq IS ridiculous. He even hyped up MICHAEL DOLEAC when he arrived in Miami, IIRC.

He's helped lead his team to a title, that's for sure.

No one person leads their team to a title on their own.

Every team has a leader. Wade was the leader of the Heat, Shaq the leader of the Lakers, Duncan the leader of the Spurs, Billups the leader of the Pistons, etc.

That entire sequence after Shaq fouled out was surreal. One of the greatest moments for a Laker fan.

I didn't say he wasn't terrific, I just said he was the "leader." Kobe has his best chance to prove everyone wrong this year, though. Should be fun to watch. A Lakers/Suns series would be epic.

Dwayne Wade is not a point guard.

I think it was more of a reference to the fact that he's never played with an elite true point guard. Wade and Kobe are scorers, 2-guards. if anything it's a slight diss at Penny.

That Laker team was spoilt for options. On one hand they had Shaq in his dominating prime and on the other they had a superstar SG that could do anything but logically the offense was designed for the big man and thats how they rolled.

You can still see shades of playing alongside Shaq in Kobe's game, the way he goes for more reverse lay ups and dunks as he's used to have Shaq patrolling the paint etc. There was no way anyone else could have overshadowed Shaq on that team but you have to remember that even during the 3-peat days, Kobe carried the team whenever Shaq was down, may be not in 2000 but 01 and 02 Kobe needs to be regarded as an equal contributor.

If they had to choose MVPs for the entire playoffs rather than just the finals, Kobe should win atleast one because he destroyed the Western conference before Shaq pounced on the easy East team in the finals.

This isn't really a diss, just hyping up Nash, which Shaq always does with his players.

This could only be a possible diss to Jwill, fisher, etc.

And it's true, Jwill hardly ever set Shaq up with great passes, surprisingly enough.
