This could only be a possible diss to Jwill, fisher, etc.

And it's true, Jwill hardly ever set Shaq up with great passes, surprisingly enough.

When is the last time Kobe and Wade were PG's is all I want to know because you guys sound like you are defending your girlfriends here.
Notes: Rookie Rudy Gay twisted his left ankle trying to guard McGrady late in the third quarter and limped to the bench. He returned with 5:51 left, then returned to the bench about a minute later - http://www.nba.com/games/20061231/MEMHOU/recap.html

And to add more fire to the pit...

Anyone watching the Lakers in the 3 peat would see that Phil used Shaq to start games and Kobe to close games. Shaq may be the MDE but he is about as useful closing out games as Eddie Curry is to guarding a buffet.

Well he's already bashed Nash (about the MVP's) so I guess his new team doesn't have to worry about it.

Kobe is very underrated in how well he sets up big men. I don't believe anyone, not even nash sets up a big center than kobe does. Kobe draws sooo much attention when he drives and or dribbles the ball in the post. Look what he's done for bynum this year. Even phil said in his book that Kobes the best in terms of getting shaq easy buckets

That Laker team was spoilt for options. On one hand they had Shaq in his dominating prime and on the other they had a superstar SG that could do anything but logically the offense was designed for the big man and thats how they rolled.

You can still see shades of playing alongside Shaq in Kobe's game, the way he goes for more reverse lay ups and dunks as he's used to have Shaq patrolling the paint etc. There was no way anyone else could have overshadowed Shaq on that team but you have to remember that even during the 3-peat days, Kobe carried the team whenever Shaq was down, may be not in 2000 but 01 and 02 Kobe needs to be regarded as an equal contributor.

If they had to choose MVPs for the entire playoffs rather than just the finals, Kobe should win atleast one because he destroyed the Western conference before Shaq pounced on the easy East team in the finals.

He basically carried the Lakers every year through the western conference playoffs. Every Laker fan will tell you who we went to when we needed those pressure buckets against such teams as the blazers, spurs, kings etc.

Why would this be a slight diss at Penny? He said "in 6 years", and they separated 12 years ago....well, for the first time.

Certainly not equal. By 2002 it was probably 55-45 or 58-42, though. ;)

This is absolutely false, and in the past I've posted their respective numbers in each playoff run minus the Finals to prove it. At best, Kobe was the MVP of one series vs. SA and about Shaq's equal in another SA series. That's it. Kobe was not better than Shaq for an entire WC playoff run in any of the championship years.

This thread fails. He didn't "diss" anyone. He gave props to his new teammate.

by pissing on his old ones... if he said "Steve Nash is the best PG around, and it will be great getting easy buckets from him" is giving props. Saying his last 6 years worth of teammates couldn't get him an easy bucket is dissing the other teammates.

Like I said, I can't wait to see the Lakers beat Phoenix's ass in the playoffs.

Typical Shaq.

And Miami hasn't had a Center who can play consistent nor stay out of foul trouble since the 05-06 season, but you won't see Wade saying those things, or Jason Williams, or anyone on our team, because it is just not neccesary at all.

Though that season can still be debateable if we really look into the numbers and see Shaq's most telling stat: minutes per game per season.

That's the number that goes down every season since his Laker days. Where's he at now? 28 minutes I believe in a 48 minute game. In Phoenix on that offense, I can see it go down to 24 minutes or even 20 minutes, depending on his conditioning and work ethic, which by the way, it's not that great nor deserving of any type of praise. 24-20 minutes per game? Those are back up minutes.

Sure, he's going to try to show off a few hard dunks on his first few practices to "wow" his teammates [Shaq has a thing for first impression, and self promoting], which will result on a stupid article about making the baskets "Shaq proof", as a way to overrate him, as his power game has been causing him the most foul trouble the past couple of seasons.

That effort he puts now has been proven to fade away after the beggining hype is over with.

Actually, Wade did call Shaq out earlier this year. Shaq responded that he agreed with the criticism. Now he's throwing wade under the bus after a trade that does more form Miami than it does for phoenix.

The question is did Shaq pull an alonzo and underperform to get traded again from a team going nowhere, or is he really washed up

So does this change your guys' perception about Shaq? Everyone immediately wanted to blame Kobe when the Lakers dynasty was broken up... But now look at Shaq. He faked his injury in Miami, bailed on the team when they were at the bottom, and now suddenly is feeling fine now that he's in Phoenix? Oh, and meanwhile he disses his teammates as he continues on to another elite team... And yet everyone still wants to point fingers at Kobe?

No, it doesn't. In LA it was 50% Kobe's fault, and 50% Shaq's fault. They were both ego-maniacs. And the Buss thing was whole different issue. Shaq nothing but great things to say about the Arison family, and said they are one of the classiest in the league.

Only when he straight up disses Wade, Zo, Haslem, Arison, etc., will my respect for Shaq go way more downhill.

Not really. It was Bryant who snitch to the police that Shaq "is cheating his wife and paying his womans to be ssshhhh about this " then later Bryant said that this is not true, really Shaq have every right to diss him as long as he wish.

funny thing is, heat fans are saying similar things LAKER fans said, but yet, they were vehemently defending shaq at that time.

hypocrites.
