He has scored 30 or more 3 other times this year but they were all against bad defensive teams. Tonight he did it against a strong defense and probably showed more all around scoring skill then i have ever seen from him.

A little fun fact ESPN mentioned.... Josh Smith has scored 30+ pts 4 times this season. Everytime Smith scores 30+ your team loses.

It was a good game though that could have gone either way.

I really like Horford for your young team. Your frontcourt with Horford/Williams/Smith/Childress is nice.

I'm just not too sure about your backcourt. Seems JJ can be really hot or cold. Anthony Johnson made a couple nice plays though.

From an outsiders perspective, what did you think about Detroits young guys? Rodney Stuckey and Amir Johnson are the two young guys Piston fans are excited about the most. Any opinions would be nice.

Joe comes up lame, again.

Marvin Williams hasn't shown up the past few games.

A little disapointed Al would've had a double-double vs Clev, and Hou, but the latter got out of hand, and Josh had mins at the 5 vs the Cavs.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

The Smoove stat is an important one. Smoove simply does not have the skills of a #1 option YET. We need our AS to score 30 points in big games but he is too busy whining about not getting help, settling for bad shots, and waiting too long to pass out of a double team.

You know, I am tired of the Josh is not ready crap. You go with the hot hand. Hell, that is canned commentary from every basketball game in recent history "SMITH(because they always say the players name alot louder than the rest of the sentence) is on fire. When it gets down to crunch time you have to go with the hot hand." If some video game script writer knows this, you would think a paid NBA head coach would know this.

He had a great game going, Joe had a horrible one. Josh was scoring at will, Joe was playing horrible.

So why run the Iso plays for Joe in the 4th. That is just stupid.

Marvin mentioned a few games back about being hurt but having to play through it, and I think it is effecting him. Joe is probably hurt too, but the difference is that marvin is not forcing fade away jumpshots while being double teamed and trying to dribble away from the double so that he can drive on his own instead of rotating the ball like Joe is doing.

The most annoying thing of the game to me was Antonio Mcdyess barely being able to walk and Marvin squaring him up on one wing and Woody throwing a jumpy fit for them to rotate the ball for Joe on the post. And Marvin did it...he shouldn't have but he did it because his coach said so.

It's not because he's being a ball hog, it's because in those games he's pretty much the only person on our team that can score. The only one of those 4 that Joe played decent in was the Washington game, but literally no one else played well. Joe averages 14.3 points on 34% shooting when Josh goes for 30+, Josh averages 15.2 points on 45% shooting when Joe goes for 30+. Those stats don't include everything else Josh does.

We're 4-2 when Joe goes for 30+, but one loss was agaist Seattle when Josh didn't play and the other was against Portlad when Josh shot poorly but filled the rest of the stat sheet. (and Joe completely choked at the end)

Yeah Josh was stepping up when the team needed it he just didn't get enough help.

Josh had some pretty nifty moves last night.

Usually Josh has big games because Joe is having a crappy one and we change to offense to feature him. Its hard for his big games to be positive when you are creating space inside and the perimeter threats aren't hitting the shots.

Look at the Lakers+Philly games. Josh was killin'em inside and Joe and Marv were hitting shots. That was huge, thats the synergy we need.
