Notre Dame at UConn

Post#1 » by GYBE » Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:11 pm

One of the biggest games in the Big East season happens tonight.

Both teams have seperated themselves from the pack and are contendors for the conference title. ND is 8-2 and is on a 5 game winning streak. UConn is right behind at 7-3 and is one of the hotter teams in the country.

They played earlier in South Bend, and the Irish prevailed depsite a terrible game from star Luke Harangody. It will be interesting to see how Mike Brey changes his gameplan. ND depends on Harangody so much, but he can't do his usual work in the post with Thabeet waiting for him. Last time Kyle MacAlarney went crazy (32 points) and they can't count on that again.

I think UConn takes it in a good battle.

Damn, these were both my sleeper teams. I think Uconn will win at home.

Yeah, he could be a solid guy off the bench for the right team. Kind of a Malik Rose/Glen Davis type player.

UConn did indeed win a good battle as I thought, but Luke was a monster. 32/16 against a very good UConn frontcourt.

It'll be tough. He's probably closer to 6'7", and only an average athlete. It's very tough for an undersized PF who's not an amazing athlete to make it in the NBA.

At absolute best he could become an Udonis Haslem in the NBA. I doubt he'll get drafted once measurements come in, but that doesn't mean he couldn't make an impact somewhere.

More likely he ends up in Europe.
