things reign

IMO, we can find a cheap shooter off the bench with a second round pick or something of that nature.

I would love to see Durant and Brewer start at the 3 and 2. When Durants off the floor, Brewer would slide to the 3 and "shooter" would play the two. If we wanted Durant on the floor with some shooting to spread things out, "shooter" comes in for Brewer.

I may be wrong in falling in love with Brewers versatility and defense, but I just feel like we won't need a big infusion of offense in our starting 5, with Durant/Green + a couple very high lottery picks hopefully at the 1, 4, 5.

How about Josh Shipp in 2nd round/phoenix pick? 2nd picks you can take gambles on guys like this. Who knows? Maybe he will be our Steve Kerr.

Then there is Rich Roby - K-Mart's half bro.

Id give Roby a look, Id also look at Jaycee Carroll from Utah State, hes scoring 21 ppg, shooting 52% from the field, 50% from 3.

Ya, I think A Afflalo is great too. But so does Detroit. They like the idea of a gradual transition from R Hamilton & C Billups to R Stuckey & A Afflalo. So do I. That's why I didn't list either of those two Piston rookies... they just aren't available IMO. Or at a reasonable price would be a better way of saying it. Also, their rookie contracts would come due the same year as K Durant & J Green. That wants to be managed for the long run. But that's just my opinion. Who knows.

CJ Miles was a 2nd round draft pick, and (after this year) will have been in the league 3 seasons.

As a result, he is a restricted free agent. However, because the Jazz are over the cap and Miles has only played 3 seasons, they may only match an offer up to the mid-level exception (note -- this is different than the Gilbert Arenas rule, which applies to 1 and 2 year players).

The Sonics would have to make some moves to get far enough under the cap this year to offer Miles more than the mid-level, but it is possible (in theory). More likely, the Sonics could offer the mid-level for 2 or 3 years and see if Utah matches. I doubt it, but he's probably not worth that much anyway.

I'm actually a fan of this trade

Michael Redd + Charlie V for Jeff Green, Kurt Thomas, Delonte West

But Wiff and I have disagreed at this one already. I think Redd is perfect fit next to Durant, they already know each other from team USA over the summer. He's also the same age Ray Allen was when we acquired him. Imagine if we did this then ended up being able to get one of Rose or Beasley. Either one would fit the team perfectly. :)

Derek Anderson, Ryan Hollins, Othella Harrington, Raymond Felton for Delonte West, Chris Wilcox.

This gives us as PG for the future in Felton, meaning it may be easier to get a SG in the draft.

I do like this trade a lot but I doubt we can get Felton especially when he is a UNC alum. We would be better trying to pick up one of Toronto's starting caliber PGs.

Good points. I agree. As much as I like CJ Miles, he's done nothing yet to prove he's worth that kind of money.

I remember all the fans were chanting for Ronnie Brewer..and they took sene...

Then that reminded me again when all the fans were pulling for Al Jefferson, and they grabbed Robert Swift.

Wow for Azubuiki? Thats a little pricey. I remember when Al Harrington and Wilcox were of equal trade value.

Why don't we just end this conversation by drafting Eric Gordon? Or do you guys disagree that he's a SG?..The only shots I've seen him take are from 2.5+ feet beyond the college arc. Obviously he is trying to get some point across but I guess no one is getting the memo.

I know someone said this earlier, but if we're going to get a SG, he HAS to be a great 3-pt shooter.

Definately possible (E Gordon), especially if the Sonics fall to 5-7 in the draft. I like E Gordon's game ahead of OJ Mayo's, although I grant that's an extremely debatable opinion.

Still, I think PG's the position that has to be addressed with our top pick in this draft. To me, D Rose & J Bayless are far ahead of the other PGs that will be in the draft.

I think we still have a year to groom/get a SG because K Durant (& J Green) won't be physically ready to slide over to SF for that long.

If you want a great 3 PT shooter look at Shan Foster from Vandy, Richard Roby from Colorado, and Jaycee Carroll from Utah State. They are all some of the top 3PT shooters in college.

If the Sonics fall to 5-7, get JerryD bayless, then pick up a scorer with the sun's pick.

although the ideal situation is we get rose with the #2 pick, then pick up a scorer via free agency.
