OT-KIDD TO MAVS HOW DOES THAT AFFECT THE ROX

Post#1 » by tmacformvp07 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 7:40 pm

LINK:http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/10639209

the mavs are close to getting Kidd, they will be sending, Stackhouse, Harris, George, and some other players

so they are sacrificing depth of course, but Kidd makes everyone around him better.

does this affect the rockets in anyway??

EDIT: trade is done deal and here it is:

To MAVS:
Jason Kidd
Malik Allen

To NETS:
Harris
Stackhouse
George
Diop
2 first round picks
cash

EDIT: there is some cheap **** going down

Stackhouse is expected to be waived and after 30 days will re-sign with the mavs, also antoine wright is going to the mavs in a second deal

so that makes them a little bit better and gets them back their depth, but still they have short window like the suns, maybe up until next season max.

the rockets better make a deal for SOMEONE, BIBBY, ARTEST, come on management, we cant' win with current roster

MODS: there was no reason to close this thread as every major sports site was confirming about the thread, waste of time.

If they will give up both Harris and Stackhouse it won't effect us that much.
Stackhouse is a Rockets killer along with Terry and thats the maihn advantage of Dallas against us along with their depth that they will lose some.
Kidd is a great player but he is not a good scorer and with giving up Stackhouse and Harris he will have less offensive weapons to pass to.
I won't be so concerened if a trade like this goes down.
I just hope it won't be for garbage and that Dallas will give something of value.

Josh Howard will receive the most benefit out of this trade. I mean he was the best player on the team, but now he'll be taken to another level.

It means we absolutely need to get Mike Miller.

I kind of like it since Stack and Harris burn the Rockets on many occasions but Terry is the one I really would want included in the trade. Besides, there is a chance that NJ just buys out Stack and he goes back to Dallas..

Plus, Kidd passing the ball to the Howard, Dirk, Terry in all the right locations is a trembling thought.

Honestly don't know. They are giving up Harris and Stack and Diop. Those players usually give us problems. It would make them a better team but also probably a better matchup for us.

Hopefully we can go get us Mike Miller.

It looks like Stack will be bought out and they will re-sign after 30 days.
This stinks.

How can they waive Stackhouse? Doesn't he have 3 years left in his contract?

Its more about Harris and Diop when talking about us specifically.

you don't have to put ALL CAP in the title

we are screwed not because Dallas is about to get Kidd
but Terry is not part of the deal
i'm more afraid of Terry's shooting and quickness than Kidd

why do you guys think Mike Miller will be our savior. We need either an upgrade at point guard or an intimidating force, a tough guy out there on the court who is more vocal. But unfortunately, we don't have much to offer. So let's just stick to this team and hope we sneak into the playoffs and hope Tmac pulls an Eli Manning

According to this article the Rockets haven't even called to express interest in Miller.

I don't see a link or any website making this official. Once it's official I'll re-open this because I think a lot of people are mislead right now.

EDIT: It's official.

If Dallas gets Stackhouse back then I don't know if I like this from a Rockets standpoint. Losing Diop and Harris hurts though. We'll see.

If Stack's returning to Dallas, this is bad for the rest of Western Conference teams.

Damn, the Mavs' starters are all all-stars: Kidd, Terry, Howard, Dirk, and Dampier.

What a bonehead move by the Mavs. Devin Harris has been a much better player than Kidd this year and he's 24.

it's just fans that wanted Miller not our management
we can get Miller instead of Battier if they wanted 2 years ago
i don't see playing time for Miller if we still keeping T-Mac, Battier, and Wells
unless you want T-Mac or Miller to guard opponnet PG

ps

according to someone in CF
we are not even looking to make a big move
