If this trade does go down, we have to get rid of at least RJ or VC, preferably both. After that try to develop a nice young squad on the cheap and cross our fingers for Lebron.

the only thing i don't like is
1) what will happen to marcus

and

2) why now, we were just playing better with nenad finally back but oh well what can you do. two firsts and the second will be nice

It will be very difficult to miss the playoffs in the east, but it would be very beneficial.

I think once Thorn realized the O'Neal talks were done for he went with what he thought was best.

To be able to get this type of package for Kidd is great.

It sounds like this trade should still allow you guys to compete for the last playoff spot in the East.

It's not bad considering that you now have some cap space for next season as well as future 1st round picks that should net you guys some solid backup players in the mid-20s in the draft.

Salary commits for next year look like...

Carter $14.7
Jefferson $13.2
Harris $8.4
Swift $6 (assuming he takes he takes his player option)
Krstic $5-7

That's about 47 million so we won't have really any cap space plus our rookie contracts going up.

Plus if you give Krstic an extension which would be likely and if Boki comes back which I'm not sure about given our direction.

I think that's a decent trade for you guys. Your pretty deep. Harris is a good player, and could be a good piece for you guys going forward.. Stackhouse will help win, now.

If you were going to trade Kidd then it looks like the Nets got a pretty good deal for him IMO. Are the Nets going to trade Carter too before the trade deadline?

wow! this trade is good for us. Our team got is so deep and I just have a feeling our team is not going to rebuild. I have a feeling, Thorn will make one more blockbuster trade for us to become a playoff team or a contender for next year. We have so much players that we don't need that has ALOT of trade values. Like Marcus Williams, Krstic, VC, and maybe even Josh Boone. we can get Elton Brand and maybe even more . So our team can still do this

If we had to trade him I think Thorn got the best deal he could. Harris is a good point and hopefully him or marcus can turn into a great point.

but we lost our best player and leader and my fav player today. I can't believe its happenning especially since the nets have looked better since krstic has come back. too bad. what could have been.

I don't think kidd plays tonight. that means marcus starts or da.

I am LOVING this trade. Thorn you are a genius!

I can't believe that we even managed to get 2 first rounders and Harris. I never thought this would be pulled off but Thorn, well done!

And I wish Kidd all the best in the future, now I hope he can win a ring. Come on Kidd, I'm pulling for you. Also great way to finish your Nets career. By going on a winning streak.

wow this is pretty sad. everyone except RJ is gone from the finals runs... oh well at least PG is set for the future. I hope some other west coast team will be pushed to trading for carter. all i really want for him are mostly expirings but a first too i don't think we'll really get any nice prospects for him oh well whatever happens happens.

Congrats on a great trade! You'll miss Kidd's steadiness but you'll get some youth with Harris and the draft picks and some flexibility.

Not bad for a disgruntled player on the tail end of his career with a huge-ass contract.
