Yeah, it's a done deal...or just about done. The Western Conference playoffs are going to be an absolute war. Loaded.

According to local NY radio, the trade is done but has yet to be confirmed. Doesn't make too much sense, but oh well. Not sure on the details.

It's supposedly Kidd and Armstrong for Harris, Stackhouse, Diop, Ager, George, cash and draft considerations.

I guess the Mavs feel they need to do something with the Pau deal. Not bad trade on either side imo

If true, New Jersey bent over Dallas in a major way --- with no lube.

that is UGLYYYY from the Mavs POV. . they are now OUT of the top western tier imo

Pau to LA. Shaq to PHX. Now its Kidd to Dallas. The West is getting stronger and stronger. A total of 10 teams have a record over .500. 9 of those teams are atleast 11 games over .500.

Add Iverson to the Nuggets (even if it was last season). The west was richer, and it's getting even much richer.

Meanwhile, only the Celtics were able to steal some marquee players from the west to the east. (Would you consider the Randolph move to NY in the same level?)

Now the nets should trade away RJ and VC for more young talent.

That's the first thing I thought, too. Especially Carter. I could see them keeping RJ because at 27, he's 4 years younger than Carter. Carter might as well pack his bags.

Wow, remember the days when all of it was just rumors, and no big name gets traded. Now there have been four stars traded in the past month! Let's make a list of all the big names traded over the past year...

Kidd
Gasol
Marion
Shaq
R. Allen
Garnett
Iverson

That's insane.

Edit: I like the deal for the Nets though. Nice young core they are trying to build.

So you are reporting the EEI is reporting...

And NJ is at like 25. So do they make another trade or cut a bunch of guys.

I like the deal for Dallas. Terry isn't a true point and Harris I'm not sure "gets it" either. But he is the best thing they go in return. Dallas will move Terry to shooting guard. Diop isn't much. He is an okay defensive center, duplicates Sean Williams imo. The draft picks will be late first. Stackhouse is done. The only question is how much does Kidd have left in the tank.

So who can we pick up from this mess? Diop for a second round pick? Wait for Stackhouse to be bought out?
