I think that's the reason why they gave us the 3 mill. To buy out Stack. And don't be surprised to see George gone as well.

Whew!!! I"M SO EXCITED!!!!!!

I think we still make the playoffs, but as 7th 8th seed and a 1st round exit, when without the trade, I expected 5th or 6th seed, and 40% chance of getting 2nd round.

Still love Kidd, the great basketball player. But like a marriage, two very good people will sometimes fall out of love. Good luck in Dallas and WC. Hope to see you do great in the playoffs and get a ring !!!

Right move in the long run.

WELCOME Harris and ex-Dallas friends to the Swamp. (how much longer is Harris injured?)

The playoffs are still very much a reality!!!

wouldn't be suprised if

PG - Marcus
SG - Harris

since the nets magement is up on marcus, and well get some young backups if we trade VC or somethin.

Actually I would rather:

PG - Harris
SG - M. Will

This is awful awful awful awful, why not do this trade in the summer Kidds trade value would have been that much better.
What are we gonna do with Vince and RJ now?
Bahhhh this is just awful awful awful awful.
You dont rebuild when youre on a 3 game winning streak on your way to the 6th seed and when youre finally playing well.

at least marcus can showcase himself while they wait for devin to come back. i love the fact that we get two firsts and a second rounder for antoine (brick all day) wright

I have some mixed emotions here.

I've been a Kidd fan since his days at Cal and I've been a Nets fan for over 20 years. When Kidd joined the Nets I was the happiest man in the world.

But, this had to happen sooner or later. If we get all of this and 2 first round draft picks it will ease the pain. I trust Rod and if Harris can continue to excel we still have a very solid team. I would like to see if we can get a stud big man within the next year for either RJ or VC. This will speed us up as Kidd was aging and Harris is a lightning bolt. Kidd used to be lightning quick and lightning fast with ups to match. But, with his knee and back issues he's been slower and has lost that lightning quick first step. He's still a threat for a triple double any night because he is still an incredible athlete and is one of the smartest players of our generation. I want to see him do well. But, I hope the Nets do better.

Good luck Kidd.

why? marcus is the better prototypical point guard with better court vision than harris.

Now the real question is where will VC go now. He'll obviously be traded now.

well, hate to see Kidd go. Special player, hope he gets a ring.

Stackhouse will likely be bought out and return to Dallas, since they sent us $3M cash for the buy out, I'd assume.

Harris is a nice player, we actually still could contend in the East. I wouldn't be surprised to ride it out and address the other issues in the offseason.

Harris seems to be a better leader. He understands his role. M. Will still needs some time. Frank is also an impatient coach. By putting M. Will at SG, he can break down the D without feeling the pressure of being the leader of the offense.

Stack has to be on the Mavs roster by March 1st to be able to play in the playoffs.

Mavs also cannot sign him for 30 days after the trade.

Kidd has been ferocious the last few games and it's disappointing to see him leave now when the Nets are going good.

The deal is pretty good and I don't see it as a rebuilding/blow up scenario so I don't see why VC or RJ would have to be traded esp. considering so many people say VC didn't fit w/ Kidd so why does it matter to those people now if Kidd is gone...

I'm more worried about Boone. He & Kidd were in a real good groove playing together. RJ too to a lesser extent but I think RJ has proven he can score even w/o Kidd.

Good luck to Kidd going back to where it all started...hey he did go 360 after all !!

If this had happened during the 9-game losing streak, I wouldn't have been upset at all. Now, however, the Nets are finally playing well. I'm just disappointed with the timing of this trade. Anyway, I'll be rooting for the Mavs to hopefully get Kidd a championship ring. As for the Nets, it's going to be hard to watch them without J-Kidd, but everything has to end sometime. Good luck Kidd. After you are retired with a championship ring, come coach the Nets and get Frank outta here.

Why would you buy Stack out? He'd be excellent trade bait/a cheap SG who could hold the fort down in a possible VC trade.

Harris will play after the all-star break.
