H2H keepers: Josh Smith for Kevin Durant

Post#1 » by Joel Embust » Wed Feb 13, 2008 9:03 pm

I get Kevin Durant, would you do it?

Both are young players with Kevin being three years younger. He will only get better and so will his numbers. He needs to bulk up and move to PF to improve on his numbers.

It's a keepers league so I can afford to be patient.

Josh Smith is only 22 himself and he has improved season by season. He's improved his passing with a few 8+ assists games. (one 10 assist game that gave him a triple double) His steal/block numbers are out of this world.

Is Kevin Durant worth giving up Josh Smith in fantasy world?

IMO I take Josh Smith. The age difference isn't a huge deal, and Josh Smith just single handedly fills up categories... I watched him almost win blocks and steals for me last week, without even factoring in the rest of my team.

Keep Josh Smith. He's young and he's actually ranked in the top 20. He should sustain this pace for 6+ years. Durant? He may never be ranked in the top 20. To reach a TMac level, he would either need to get his assists up or his TOs down. If both stay the same he won't be anywhere near top 20 status.

Kevin Durant has nothing on Josh Smith now and going forward, especially on the defensive end. Durant's minimal advantage on offense is not good enough to give up Josh Smith.

Agreed... You should ask for more. Durant could pan out, but Smith has already proven himself.
