At home, amazed that he met and exceeded the hype. Wondering how far this team could possibly go. Not realizing that this would be the climax of Vince's time with the team...

Damn, can't believe that was 8 years ago.

I won't lie, that was one hell of a happy night. Hope that happens again when Jamario takes the stage.

I lost my bearings in the sense that it felt like it didn't happen. i was watching every second of it yet it felt like I wasn't. To be honest I was nervous beyond belief. This was our REP on the line. we were earning respect, climbing in the eyes of the world. and Vince could NOT blow it. I figured he was going to miss all his dunks I was so nervous.

I was in the living room with all the family [we were/still are all Raptor fans] and we all jumped up and started making random movements at a frenetic pace.

I have never seen a response like that. Think about what happened. Shaq's expression, Isiah JUMPING OUT OF HIS CHAIR AND GIVING VC PROPS, Kenny absolutely loosing it on live televesion [i mean think about how out of line that is. to say 'LETS GO HOME. ITS OVER LADIES AND GENTLEMAN' in an event where he is the JUDGE!]

Feels unreal to this day.

This is actually one of my favourite stories. Here's the truncated version:

It was a weekend that my friends and I just happened to be in Las Vegas together. We were having a late lunch at the buffet in the Hilton. I had finished my meal and just got up to go to the rest room. On my way out I was passing through the sports betting area and there was a crowd starting to gather watching the dunk competition on the big screen. I ran back in and got my friends and they all came out to watch. Bunch of us just amazed at what was going on and cheering for VC. Everyone was, even if they weren't from T.O. When it was over, we went back into the buffet where the waitress was clearing the table. We caught her just in time and stopped her by saying we weren't quite done. Maybe 45+ minutes went by watching the dunk contest and we had worked up the hunger for yet another plate or two at the buffet. Damn, that was satisfying all round!!
