Can we trade Swift before the Deadline?

Post#1 » by vincecarter4pres » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:27 pm

Was just wondering if it's allowed by league rules since we just aquired him?

Magloire will be gone after this season, so if we could trade Swift in combination with MAgloire and maybe Darrel armstrong and some picks, if there are any players at that price level left worth aquiring, could we?

Just wondering.

Also I think VC is going to be close to untradeable, and as much as I love RJ as a day one Net, and for his many talents, and as much as VC pisses me off with his bipolar attitude towards effort, I would still rather trade RJ.

Imagine RJ and maybe Krstic or Boone for a resigned Brand.

Then trade Magloire, Marcus, and Boki and possibly a 1st for Mike Miller.

I think I just got off the whole Swift thing, but anyway, one can dream.

Swift would actually be better as an expiring on draft night, combined with a bunch of 1sts and maybe a prospect that we have left besides SWAT ti get in the top 5 picks if there is someone we really like.

Stro can't be traded again until the offseason if the Nets choose to do so.

I think he can be traded as long as he's not packaged with any other player, but don't quote me on that...

I like Stromile Swift.

Why trade him ?

He can turn out to be a beast for us depending on how he performs.

Swift is a big down grade from Collins in the defensive point of the game. But he has some (limited) offensive game.

Besides, Nets cut down on the food bill with Collins gone.
