Joey Graham is worth a second round pick?

Post#1 » by supersub15 » Thu Feb 14, 2008 4:05 am

read more here

ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reports that the Nets and the Mavs were likewise poised to complete a separate trade that will send swingman Antoine Wright to Dallas for a future second-round pick.

Please tell me that Joey is worth more than that?

Wright was picked 15th, Joey 16th. Their careers mirror each other, i.e. promising youngsters out of college, that fizzled pretty badly in the big league.

Well, Antoine is an expiring and this can be looked at as an odd on from the Kidd deal.

Yeah, I was thinking of the same thing when I was reading ESPN. That's real sad we gave up on Granger.

I'm pretty sure this is part of the Kidd trade, but Wright couldn't be added for salary cap reasons or something. I don't think this is a separate trade in the truest sense of the word.

Anyways, to answer your question, I think that this is what Graham is worth. I'd be stunned if any GM would offer more than a 2nd rounder for him.

I guess it depends on the deal. In the NEts case maybe there just throwing in whoever to get this deal to go through.

If I was a different team, I would give the Raps a 2nd round pick for Joey Graham. Call me crazy, but Joey can be still a player in this league.

Man, Joey Graham has really fallen out of favor. Even Jay Triano doesn't play him in a blowout. Looks like Joey Graham and Kris Humphries (judging from his lack of PT lately) are on the trading block. It's unfortunate, 'cause Joey Graham has the physical tools of that SF that we've been looking for. Oh, well..

Delfino is worth two 2nds, and Joey is significantly worse than Delfino. One 2nd sounds about right.

a fair (and good trade) would be Joey Graham for Gerald Green. I can see BC pulling it off .

Joey isn't worth a 2nd rounder, maybe just another bust like himself, kind of like how we got Hump

We definitely messed up with not drafting Granger

can we stop throwing around the word "bust"? do we really expect every late drafted player to be a quality role player or all-star?

Why would he be? Suppose you're the Raptors GM and Graham plays for some other team and is offered to you, what would you be willing to give up for him, if anything?
