Who are you guys eying at the top of the draft?

I know we just resigned Mo and have a high priced SF but those have to be our biggest two needs.

I'm all for BPA, but I always go about hopign the BPA is a guy we need.

This team is just going to sit around and wait for these bad deals to expire. In the mean time, we have to develop the best talent we can so when our current duds leave, we have guys developed and ready to take the bad pay and turn it into productive pay.

Whoever we get, I hope it's a good offensive player, but GREAT defender. This team is desperate for defense and toughness in our starting 5.

If we tank then I want to tank for Derrick Rose and Derrick Rose alone.

I think he is going to be a unbelievable pro. He's the type of player who could completely turn the franchise around, IMO.

i think d rose could be a baron davis type player...he has a similar build and a pretty good J..what do u guys think

That would be great. If we got a young PG to go with our up and coming bigs, it woudl be a good situation to develop as our bad contracts expire.

Truth be told, I think the Bucks front office is a joke and they will fail in anything they do, even if they get a gift (similar to Cleveland).

I still lhope, so this thread is about hope.

I want Michael Beasley, just so we could say we got one PF out of the lotto of the past three drafts (CV, Yi and Beasley) plus Bogut but still play the same type of game thanks to the Redd-Mo backcourt.

It would be awesome, then we could tank next year and draft Blake Griffin.

F that guys... Beasley will be awesome! The question is if he will come out after this season. I recently heard an interview on espn and he said that he has no problem returning for his soph season if no nba team is willing to play him 30+ minutes per game. I do think the money will ultimately make the decision for him though.

I'm not as big on Rose, he isn't really that good a defender. He'd be better than the current Bucks alternatives I guess. I don't know about the top of the draft, but I'd be quite happy to see any of these in a Bucks uniform based on what I've seen of them:

Jerryd Bayless
Darrell Arthur
Kevin Love
Tyler Hansbrough
Darren Collison

I think Hansbrough will be one of those guys who is written off for various reasons despite his exploits in college and end up being a David Lee/Udonis Haslem roleplayer that most teams would like. Or he could go the Shelden Williams route I suppose.

I like the idea of Thabeet if he lived up to his potential aswell.

Also I have to admit that I'm pretty intrigued by Kevin Love and his unreal production despite a number of physical red flags with him (height, weight, athleticism).

I don't think we're going to pick early enough for Blake Griffin or Rose, either of whom I'd like. Beasley is compelling but his defense is terrible, and I'm not interested... and he'll also be long gone.

We can't tank hard enough to move near the bottom three in lotto balls, I don't think. Minnesota, Miami and Seattle are just too bad and too far behind us. Memphis just traded away their best player and are looking to make more moves toward the future. New York isn't going to materialize. We're bad, but other teams are just as bad and are thinking about next year already. We're still thinking about moving up.

I see your point, but the flags you pointed out are almost too much of a risk. I would take a chance on him in the mid to late first round. Remember that kris humphries was a first team all big ten player and was the first freshman ever to lead the league in points and rebounds in the same season...and look at him now

Humphries also shot 44% from the field, where Love is somewhere around 60%. Also, Humphries is not bad.

Bucks don't really need a lottery pick they need to trade it and get an established star to supplement Redd if you keep him and garner more late 1st and 2nd round picks.

Bring back Ersan Ilyasova and you got Sessions. Those are your rookies there. I like David Noel.

You can use this lottery pick to package a loser with to unload some of the garbage they now have, and then get picks later in the 1st or the
2nd round.

Then take Devon Hardin or Ryan Anderson, the Shipp kid from UCLA, Jamont Gordon or DJ from Indiana or even Brian Butch as a backup to Bogut or insurance for when or if he leaves!?

Target Chase Budinger and JaMarcus Nelson as well...please.

I don't think we'll be in the top 3 (IMO Beasley, Rose, Gordon are locks for the top 3 picks and all will be studs). So after that, if we could make out with one of Tyler Smith, Donte Greene, Darren Collison, Nicolas Batum, or Darrell Arthur, I'd be pretty happy.

Tyler Smith reminds me of a less offensively gifted but more athletic Josh Howard. I think he'd be a great fit here.

I think we will be picking around 6 to 10 so I would really like to see the Bucks get one of the foreigners....Either Batum or that Danilo guy from Italy. Both are rising up the draft board.

These foreign players that come into the NBA usually play a team style of ball and that is what we all want and need.

I don't know about Gallinari. If we're serious about changing the makeup of this team he's not the guy for us. Sure he plays team ball on the offensive end, but that only goes so far when you're going to have a lot of trouble d-ing up in the NBA. Batum on the other hand has all the tools to excel on BOTH ends of the floor.
