Kings in their prime were the Lakers' bitches.

The Kings got screwed twice in the WCF with the Lakers, the after the half ended 3 point shot by Horry, and the obvious no call elbow by Bryant to Bibby, the Lakers were definate undeserving bitches.

That three in game 4 that you're talking about was Samaki Walker who got credited three points DURING halftime. Which for all intents and purposes would have nullified Horry's game winning shot at the end of that game.

Monta Ellis in the last 5 games:

24.8ppg, 70%FG, 6rpg, 4.6apg, 1.2spg

I doubt Bobby Jackson has ever had a stretch like that

Oh well! If Monta had a good 5 game stretch I must give the nod to him now!

That doesn't say much for the teams they beat up on in the playoffs.

Hey, I'm no Lakers fan (except as a kid, I loved the Showtime Lakers, with Magic and Worthy). In fact (despite the fact I'm no fan of Adelman either), I was rooting for the Kings in those great playoff series vs. the Lakers. And I'm a big defender of the Kings and some of their players on these boards. But this could woulda shoula stuff: losers' lament.

As a STARTER on a 60 WIN TEAM TITLE CONTENDER Bobby Jackson posted these numbers over a TWENTY-SIX game stretch(not a 5 game sample size) while Bibby was out...
20ppg, on 50% FG% 40% 3FG% 86% FT% 4.5 RPG 4.0 APG 1.6 SPG and only 2.0 TOPG.

The fact is, comparing Monta to Bobby Jackson is COMPLIMENT. The fact is Bobby put up just as good of statistics as Monta has(over a 5 game stretch) in his career, but on a MUCH better team AS A MUCH LOWER offensive option, PLUS he was ALWAYS a lock down defender - something Monta hasn't achieved yet.

Have I once dogged Monta? no. I tell it the way it IS. He's a very good, promising young combo guard, much the way Bobby Jackson was. Bobby has been better in his career, and it's QUITE possible that one day Monta meets or exceeds that...but then you're SPECULATING. If you compare Bobby's BEST season to Monta's best season YOU HAVE TO JACKSON.....SO FAR. Noone's saying that will never change...we're going off of what IS and HAS BEEN currently.

How do those numbers equal Monta's five game numbers? It looks to me like Monta is scoring 5 ppg more on 20% higher fg%. Their 20 game numbers look even to me:

21.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.3 spg, 2.0 topg

Those are equal stats. Now I am just looking at offense, but you can't say that Jackson's offensive numbers as a starter equal Monta's in the last five games. That wouldn't be objective as you like to say you are being.

Jackson does beat Monta defensively, so I could say his 26 game prime is better than Monta now. I really like Jackson as he is a Gopher alum, but he is not nearly as dynamic offensively as Monta.
