4th or 5th, we are going to face the Cavs

Post#1 » by DonkeyPunch » Thu Feb 14, 2008 7:44 pm

Its looking like Orlando is going to maintain 3rd and the 4th and 5th spots are between the raps and the cavs. The Wizards have nose dived...hard...and no other team will catch us or Lebron barring a major collapse.

I just can't see how we can take on Lebron in the first round and come out on top, even if we manage to get home court.

I am rooting for the Cavs to take the 3rd! LETS GO CAVS! ORLANDO SUCKS!

Yeah its looking more and more like a possiblity... For sure nobody from below will likely overtake us or the Cavs... The only thing that can change things is a prolonged Cavs losing streak due to a Lebron injury, because they're basically **** without him...

We really need to get that 4th seed and homecourt now...

Orlando is only up 3 on the Cavs & 3.5 on the Raps. There's lots of ball yet to be played. #rd place is well within the Raps or Cavs reach.

When Varejao comes back the Cavs will start winning just like they did when he first got there. Cavs will be in 3rd unless they get another injury.

At least we'll get the best tv exposure and game times in the East, since the NBA's golden boy will be playing.... Its likely everybody will consider this a warmup for Lebron to get ready for the Celtics in the second round... Would be funny if we upset them...

I look at those numbers and see hope, until I remember the Cavs have been the best team in the East since the first of January. We really gotta go like 22-9 to finish the season lol, or the cavs collapse. Not likely, their schedule (and Orlando's) isn't that bad.

Hopefully the cavs then get 3rd, so we play the magic.

Way to early to start assuming exactly where everyone is going to finish. Lots of injuries, trades, hot streaks and cold streaks ahead of these teams.

We could catch Orlando by the end of the month just based on our much easier schedule alone.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

No that basically means we need to win Our Games against each other..... Or hope Cavs win all their games against them.... 3.5 games its not far, and I doubt they win all those games.....

Well, as far as wanting the Raptors to win in the playoffs, I'd rather have the Raptors face the Orlando Magic rather than the Cleveland Cavs. James would destroy our defence. And obviously, it's better than the Raps facing either Detroit or Boston as well. I really think the Magic would be the Raptors' best chance in winning the first round.

Other than that, I guess I can hope that the Raptors somehow take the 3rd spot and the Raps end up facing one of the weaker teams in the East... although I'd say Washington could beat the Raps as well, especially if Arenas is back and at full health.

Wrong... CLE will surpass ORL as CLE will start playin well and ORL will start playin like the average team that they are. I see us and ORL being 4th and 5th unless Gilbert comes soon and then WAS can possibly surpass us and/or ORL but I wouldn't bet on it. TOR and ORL would be a battle of average teams that will get swept or win a game in the next round against BOS or DET. If we make it that far, I will consider this season a success. We gotta avoid BOS/DET/Lebron in the first round at all costs. I feel like we can compete with Lebron but he'll find a way to beat us.

Orlando is not on par with us, and are not a mediocre team... Times have changed, and they will not drop like everybody's expecting them to... They are better than the Cavs (although I don't know about who would win a playoff series), and they are better than us... I've watched a lot of their games, and they are a good team, with a lot of starpower... They've beaten Boston twice this year...

Obviously we WANT to play them rather than the Cavs, but I still think they'll hold out... Let me make some predictions, its fun that way...

(1) Boston vs (8 ) Atlanta

(2) Detroit vs (7) Philadelphia

(3) Orlando vs (6) Washington

(4)Cleveland vs (5) Toronto
